Elder L. Tom Perry’s Funeral Scheduled for Friday, June 5th

Elder L. Tom Perry, an Apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away May 30th at 3:00 pm in his home. He was 92.

Elder Perry is survived by his wife Barbara Taylor Denton, whom he married in 1976.

Born in Logan, Utah on August 5, 1922, Lowell Tom Perry  made a career in retail before being called as an assistant to the twelve in 1972. He was later called into the Quorum of Twelve Apostles in 1974.

Elder Perry enjoyed gardening and going on walks with his wife. He will be remembered by members of the Church for his stirring sermons and example of hard work. You can read a biography of his life at LDS.net.

The funeral will take place Friday, June 5th at 11 a.m. (MST) at the Tabernacle on Temple Square. The service is open to the public and will be broadcast live on LDS.org, KSL and BYUtv. Visit Mormon Newsroom for more information.
