Light and Truth

Boat sitting in the water at sunset

by Heather DeSomer

The Sun shines

That which is of God

Low over the horizon

Is Light

Just barely through the

Morning clouds

A gold and silver streak across

The Water

A Boat bobs up and down

He that receiveth light

Up and down in the water

Anchored near the shore

And continueth in God

Catching the new Rays

Receiveth more light

The Sun rises

And the light groweth brighter

A yellow-hot disk

And brighter until

In the blue Sky

The Perfect Day*
