Lindsey Stirling Talks About Success and Gives Advice to Young Dreamers

Lindsay Stirling Interview
AOL Sessions recently featured an exclusive interview with Lindsey Stirling, a famous rocker violinist and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the interview, Stirling recounted that trying to get her music career started the conventional way didn’t work out for her. It wasn’t until she found YouTube that things finally took off:

YouTube was my path to success…I didn’t have to wait for someone else to tell me ‘you’re ready,’ ‘okay, you’re good enough’ or ‘oh, you fit in.’ I didn’t have to change anything about who I was and I could do it myself, my own way and I could do it now. I didn’t have to wait.”

Stirling told AOL that when she tried the conventional route, she was told time and time again that she’s too different. However, it’s the very thing that makes her different that has brought her so much success:

Since her time as a contestant on America’s Got Talent, Stirling has worked with many different artists, including the famous John Legend. Stirling helped produce and edit the video (posted below) as Legend let Stirling lead as the artistic mastermind.

When Stirling is not rocking out on her violin and dancing on stage, she is motivational speaking. When asked what advice she would give to young dreamers who aspire to make a name for themselves, she said she would tell them:

Don’t ever let anyone tell you who you should be and if you’re good enough, or what you should look like or what you should do. Because that’s what makes the world a beautiful place…when you’re doing things that make you, you.
