LDS.net’s Mormon Minute recaps LDS news that happened during the week in the Mormon world. This week, we talk about: the Church’s approval of Utah Senate Bill 296, LDS Family Service’s partnership with Adoption.com, and a “feel-good” video of a dog welcoming home his best friend from his LDS mission.

0:05 – Utah’s Religious Freedom Bill

LDS Church leaders met with Utah law makers in support of senate bill 296. The bill lists a set of anti-discrimination and religious freedom amendments, which also align with the church’s recent fairness for all initiative. Lawmakers will vote on the bill before the session ends next week.

Today we want to express deep gratitude and appreciation to those who have worked so diligently to craft a solution which can serve as an effective model for other local and state governments wrestling with these same complex issues.

0:41 – LDS Family Services Partnership

LDS Family Services and Adoption.com entered a new partnership this week, which will make it easier for LDS families hoping to adopt. Both parties say the new service will provide more opportunities for adoption. The Church will also cover the cost to create and maintain a profile from month to month until February 2016.

1:00 – Dog Reacts to Missionary Returning Home

And this dog’s reaction to his friend’s arrival home from his mission is sure to make you smile.
