Mormon Minute: Weekly News Recap for January 5, 2016

817

The Mormon Minute recaps news that’s happening in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This week, we cover: how the Church’s Christmas campaign did in comparison to other holiday campaigns, an update to the Spanish Standard Works, and more.

0:06 – A Savior is Born

Advertising Age, a news source for marketing, named the Church’s “A Savior is Born” initiative as one of the top 10 holiday campaigns of 2015. The Church’s English portion of the campaign came in at number nine and had over 17 million views. It is especially noteworthy because religious campaigns rarely make the list.

0:26 – Spanish Standard Works

The Church released an updated version of the Spanish edition of the Standard Works at escrituras.churchofjesuschrist.org. Because many of the changes are minimal, page numbers and font style will remain the same and members are not required to obtain a new copy. Hard copies of the updated standard works will be available on June 30th of this year.

0:46 – Sunday School New Year’s Resolution

The Sunday School General Presidency is encouraging members to read The Book of Mormon every single day this year. The emphasis comes after the Sunday School lessons for the New Year surrounding the Book of Mormon were released.

0:58 – Feeding Refugees in Beirut

And Mormon Channel shows how one woman is feeding the refugees in Beirut.
