Just a few minutes before 9 a.m. church services were to begin at a ward in Draper, Utah, a man flying a motorized paraglider crashed through the roof, receiving fatal injuries. The glider was spinning before the crash, and experts said it must have had a great downward velocity, because the hole in the roof was small and localized.

The victim was 57 year old Jim Petersen. The pilot was dead before responders could help. Church meetings were immediately cancelled.

With a Libertarian President, Mitt Romney can Choose any Government Job

Gary Johnson
Gary Johnson on September 22, 2011 in Orlando, Florida.

Libertarian US presidential candidate, Gary Johnson, says that if he is elected, Mitt Romney can choose any government post.

“If Mitt Romney wants to be a part of the administration, that would be a guarantee.”

Johnson made the comment on August 19, 2016, at a joint Deseret News-KSL editorial board meeting with Johnson and Bill Weld. Although he seemed to doubt whether Mitt would be interested, he said the former Republican presidential nominee would be free to, in essence, choose his own adventure.

Weld, in turn, recommended the posts of Secretary of Defense or Secretary of State. Romney has made no public reply.

Church Releases Statement on Proposed “Utopia” in Vermont”

Plans for Vermont utopia
via ArchPaper.com

Church member David Hall, a multi-millionaire, has proposed building a utopian community in Vermont based upon principles conceived by Prophet Joseph Smith.

Hall wants to build such “new age green communities” in Provo, Utah, in Vermont (near Joseph Smith’s birthplace), and eventually all over the world. This has stirred bitter opposition from neighbors in two states.

Recently, the LDS Church released a comment regarding Hall’s plans:

his is a private venture and is not associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in any way. The church makes no judgment about the scientific, environmental or social merits of the proposed developments. However, for a variety of reasons, we are not in favor of the proposal.

Her powerful story only shines further light on the negative effects of pornography, how it can twist the mind of the viewer, and how it can inevitably escalate to more extreme material and behavior.
