The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will no longer require missionaries  serving in hot climates to purchase and wear suit coats.

Mormon Newsroom reports that this change in dress standards is “to reduce the financial burden on missionaries and their families.”

This change will apply only to specific missions. Individuals will be informed if their mission is included in the clothing change in their mission call packets.

For a full list of missions who will no longer require missionaries to purchase suit coats, go to MormonNewsroom.org.
