In May 2013, Oklahoma suffered devastating tornadoes that destroyed homes, schools, shops, and lives. Maylene and her family survived the devastation and she shares her story in the new Mormon Channel video.
Maylene, from Moore, Oklahoma, is raising her kids and her sisters kids all by herself after her husband left her. In the video she explains that she wanted to give up, and then the tornado came.
The day the tornado struck her town, she was at work at the local elementary school, where some of her children attended. The tornado destroyed the school and Maylene was taken straight to the hospital. For the next nine hours, Maylene did not know the well-being of her children.
