After spending a weekend in Mexico, Elder Dale G. Renlund shared that he was uplifted by the faith and dedication of the Mexican members.

Elder Richard J. Maynes of the Presidency of the Seventy and Bishop Gérald Caussé of the Presiding Bishopric accompanied Renlund on his first trip to Mexico as an Apostle. The three Church leaders met with hundreds of missionaries, members and local leaders during their visit.

One morning, Caussé and Renlund spent time training missionaries serving in the Mexico Aguascalientes Mission. Later that same day, Renlund, Maynes and Caussé, along with area seventies, instructed bishops and stake presidents from the area, focusing the meeting on how to best lead the Saints in Mexico.

Church News reports that members from the León Stake were invited to attend a devotional with Renlund. The Apostle also held a special stake meeting for Queretaro Mexico Stake, where he taught those in attendance the importance of the sacrament.

“Remembering what God has done for us and making covenants to keep His commandments and remembering Him is what should happen in sacrament meeting each week,” Renlund taught.

If we approach sacrament like baptism, as we renew our baptism covenants through sacrament, Christ renews the cleansing effects of baptism.
