In August 2015, construction on the Fort Collins Colorado Temple slowed due to vandalism to the exterior structure and the construction site. Now, as the temple nears completion, the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced dates for the temple’s open house and dedication.

The open house for Colorado’s second Latter-day Saint temple will begin on Friday, August 19, and go through Saturday, September 10, 2016, excluding Sundays. Youth living in the temple’s district will participate in a cultural celebration on Saturday, October 15 prior to the temple’s dedication.

Worthy Latter-day Saints ages eight and up who live in Colorado or the temple’s district are invited to attend a broadcast of the dedication on Sunday, October 16. The dedication will take place in three different sessions at 9am, 12pm and 3pm.

The Fort Collins Colorado Temple will serve approximately 44,000 members of the Church living in northern Colorado and southern Wyoming, according to Mormon Newsroom.
