President Uchtdorf Dedicates Córdoba Argentina Temple

1026

The Córdoba Argentina temple was dedicated on Sunday, May 17, 2015 with President Dieter F. Uchtdorf presiding.

Uchtdorf was accompanied by Elder D. Todd Christofferson and other local and area general authorities.

The temple was built on the site of the former Argentina North Mission home, where Elder Richard G. Scott served as mission president and Christofferson served as one of his missionaries. Christofferson expressed his excitement and told Mormon Newsroom,

It’s almost surreal. Something beyond my fondest imaginations that we would be here dedicating a temple, some 50 years, more or less, from my mission service time. It’s a great blessing, a miracle, really.

The temple district includes the northwest half of Argentina and the Buenos Aires Temple covers the rest of Argentina. Prior to the dedication, more than 49,000 people attended the two-week open house in April and May.
