Yesterday, BYUtv aired ‘New Day for the Book of Mormon’a documentary about the history of the Book of Mormon and its effect on the world today.

The show opens by quoting Galileo Gililei:

All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.

At the beginning of the show, random people on the street are asked what they know about the Book of Mormon. Although some had a general idea, many admitted they had no idea what the book was or that it was anything other than the name of a popular Broadway musical.

The documentary, posted above, takes viewers through the impressions of both members of the Church and non-Latter-day Saint scholars on the Book of Mormon, and why you can’t always judge a book by its cover.
