On Saturday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released an article about the brand new Cambodian Stakes that were created last week. Both were created on May 25. According to the article, “this is only the second time in Church history that the first two stakes in a single country have been created on the same day.”

The two stakes are named the Cambodia Phnom Penh North and South Stakes. The new members of the Stake Presidency for the North Stake (pictured above, from left to right) are 1st Counselor Thaong Chantha, President Eng Bun Huoch, and 2nd Counselor But Lum Ang. In the meeting President Huoch shared his testimony and said,

“As priesthood keys were received for the Lord’s work in Cambodia, tears came to my eyes. I invite all members to hold tight to the stakes of Zion, to stay in the shelter of the stake and find sweet happiness in their family.”

The Phnom Penh South Stake Presidency are (from left to right) 1st Counselor Touch Sophorn, President Uk Sophal, and 2nd Counselor Heng Sokhom. President Sophal also shared his testimony and said,

“It is wonderful to see the growth of the Church in this land. The Lord loves us and is greatly blessing us. I know if we are obedient and have faith He will continue to bless us in Cambodia.”

Scott is a True Blue Mormon thru and thru. He served a mission in Brisbane, Australia from 2006 to 2008 and would give a puppy to go back again. Scott is studying broadcast journalism at BYU and will graduate in December, 2014. He spends his free time playing games and chilling with his friends.
