7 Years of Service for a Neighbor in Mormon Channel’s ‘Lift’

The Mormon Channel released “Lift,” which features the selfless service of 50 men who helped one woman in their neighborhood.

When Kathy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, her husband decided he wouldn’t be able to take care of her and divorced her. After her two sons grew up and moved out, Kathy found herself alone and in need of someone to help her get in and out of bed.

A group of 50 men, which comprised of friends, neighbors and church members came to Kathy’s aid. Every night for seven years two of the men would come to help Kathy into bed. The YouTube page described the men’s nighttime routine: “They pull off her slippers, adjust her pillows, charge her wheelchair, and place pills on the nightstand. Then they lift her into bed.”

Kathy gratefully expresses her gratitude for the men’s service in the video shown above saying,

I have seen great compassion. It’s let me know that I’m not forgotten, that I’m still valued, not only to God, but I have worth to give other people in different ways.
