Easter: The Blessings of the Resurrection

174

A very spiritual friend was walking and giving thanks for a beautiful spring rebirth. Everything around him was in bloom. Full of joy, he asked a passer-by, “Aren’t you grateful to Christ for this season?” She gave a gloomy response: “What has Christ ever done for me!?”

This Easter season we rejoice in the greatest gift ever given to humankind, bestowed upon us by the Living Christ, who was willing to suffer and sacrifice His life for us, that we might live again.

This mortal existence is just a blip on the timeline of eternity, and yet it is very important. During mortality, we gain knowledge and wisdom, compassion, and experience. Most important, we form lasting relationships bound with ties of love. These relationships are meant to be eternal.

Yet, we are bereft when we lose a loved one to death, whether timely or premature. Christ’s Great Gift offers us the comfort that we all will live eternally, to be reunited with our loved ones in perfect health and vitality.

We celebrate that gift this Easter season and wish you all the happiest of holidays.
