Heaven on a Sunday Night: A Missionary’s Send-Off and a Father’s Reflection
Before his son Jack left to serve a mission in Mozambique, Dave Butler remembers how Jack and his friends came over every Sunday night to their home for Mission Prep. They’d always start off with a game of wiffle ball in the backyard.
On one of those final nights before Jack left, the boys brought a flag, retired Jack’s number, and hung it on the fence. As they played their last game, Dave remembers thinking: What else could I ever want besides this?
I gathered the boys and said, “If anyone ever tells you they don’t believe in heaven, tell them you’ve been there. It was on a Sunday night.”
Faith, relationships, and shared moments — that’s heaven on earth.
@the.heaven.project story time do you believe in heaven? cause I do i’ve actually been there
