The Parable of the Roomba
“I called that the parable of the Roomba once. Have you ever seen one? I used to think… stick with me on this. I used to think of the Atonement of Jesus Christ more like the standard vacuum cleaner. It’s in the closet… when I or my kids do something on the living room floor, we have to go to the closet, we bust it out, we vacuum, and then we put it back to the closet for the next time.
Roombas are awesome. You just plug that thing in, then you hit the button, and it’s just constantly going around. It’s cleaning up messes as fast as they’re being made. I think to have the Holy Ghost is the Roomba. Jesus is just cleaning the inside again and again. He’s sanctifying. He’s empowering.”
