  1. I love it that Conference was kicked off with a talk just overflowing with the teachings and examples of the Savior. Perfect. :)

  3. We live in the Last Days. I've studied the topic heavily. The signs of the times are all around us. They pick a hymn with those verses.

Not sure if this counts as a confession, but... What a great show. :)

  5. And then afterwards you simply wash the paint off? This could be psychologically devastating to the children because you didn't trust them to create more enduring art. Have you thought about "Tattoo the teacher" instead? Whatever you decide, do think about posting a photo here after it's over (with faces blurred for privacy, if you wish).

Be it therefore known to all nations, races, kindreds, tribes, and tongues that I am hopelessly in love in Judi Dench (formally known as Dame Judith Olivia Dench, CH DBE FRSA) and that I would be overjoyed if I could meet her just one time to thank her for the enjoyment she has given me. And she's a very devoted Christian (Quaker), too. By the way, if your Netflix queue is scraping bottom and you like Britcoms, try "As Time Goes By" (also available on Amazon Prime streaming). Oh, and I have a 2nd confession as well. I am a gentle man, slow to anger and endless in patience... but I totally lose it when I go to a salad bar and get stuck behind some bozo who moves down the line at a glacial pace, uses the tongs to transfer one pea at a time onto the plate, and slowly ponders every vegetable and dressing with more contemplation than I do when buying a new car.

  9. What's wrong with you is that the needed healing has not occurred within you. You do not have a problem. He drank and cheated not you. Deep down you feel that he could easily revert back to his old ways. You need what every person in your situation needs--spiritual confirmation. Good luck.

  10. What is so hard with following rules? Really. Why is it so difficult for some people to understand that some rules are in place just to see if you will follow them? It's a simple concept called h u m i l i t y..... ...so just shave for crying out loud. It's not like you are being asked to cross the plains again. It blows my mind that so many people freak out over the beard thing but don't seem to give a bleep that our government is openly and blatantly breaking major established constitutional laws. Again, mind blown. (...and yes I had a bad day at work.)

Please forgive me for bringing up the baptism thing again, but I am still not understanding something. If you are denied baptism, you have to be given very clear reasons why. I don't want you to share the reasons if you are not comfortable, but if it's okay I'd like to know specifically what the reasons are. If these are the reasons: "I'd have to stop living as a man, stop taking hormones, and stop attending priesthood..." you are not being denied baptism. Your actions are preventing you from being baptised. There is a HUGE difference between "You cannot be baptized" and "You can be baptized if..." I don't know how to answer your question about where you will be if you die without baptism. If you know what you need to do to be baptized and you don't try to do it.........that's pretty serious. Much more serious than someone who has never heard of the Gospel.

  12. Again, disagree - on two fronts: - the mission experience - marriage To explain the latter, even if my husband had an amazing mission, if he still referred to that as his best two years/best spent two years I'd look at him and ask where he ranks our marriage! (our marriage isn't perfect - no one's is - but church leaders have said that *nothing* can surpass that relationship - the experience or the lessons learned)

    The Twinkie Diet

I wash my twinkies off before I eat them. Does that count as clean eating?

  15. One other thing - Unfortunately, not everyone who has the title of 'returned missionary' is worthy of it but there are some who don't understand that and put more weight on it than they should.

  16. Welcome! As far as someone being accepting of marrying a convert - if they're not, they're not worth marrying, imo. I would hope that this wouldn't be an issue but I'm sure you'll find some (including parents) who think otherwise. As far as not serving a mission and being looked down upon by a future spouse (and parents) - again, same as above. Also, I'd remind them that there are some General Authorities who are converts as well as General Authorities who didn't serve a mission. That should help them rethink their position. As far as members looking down on you for not serving a two year mission - anyone who does (which I hope would be few if any) isn't worth your time and would be in need of a refresher course of some Gospel principles. In other words, this is their problem, not yours. Basically, anywhere you go there are a few bad apples but you can't worry about that. You just need to do what feels right to you and ignore the rest. Hope that helps.

    It's hard to be LDS

Loving Heavenly Father makes easy-hard irrelevant. I just do it. Like a job. When my boss asks me to do something, whether it be hard or easy is recognized but still irrelevant. I was asked to do it, I am going to get it done. Although, obeying Heavenly Father is many times over more rewarding and edifying than obeying my boss.

I don't find it hard. To me, following the WofW and paying tithing offers me blessings.

    The Twinkie Diet

First was the bald faced lie that he wasn't trying to promote a patently political agenda. Then there was his entire vile premise that you're too stupid to make intelligent decisions on your own and need to be nudged and guided and even forced if necessary to make correct decisions in all aspects of your live, quite possibly one of the most vile and satanic lies of our day.

    Living Longer

That is all I'm saying too. It is common knowledge, conventional wisdom... whatever you want to call it - a well promoted idea that laughter is the best medicine. I don't dispute it is good for a person either, I was simply stating in direct response to the question of what I think of the article, that it lacks the stamp of FACT. :)
