  1. I have not had a negligent discharge in my life with a firearm despite spending many numerous hours shooting. The reason for this I attribute to the over 90 hours of professional firearm courses I took on pistol and long gun training. If you are going to own firearms learn how to use them safely. (A good one or two day course will generally teach you the basics. But you need to refresh yourself if you have not handled a loaded firearm for over six months.) Firearm accidents are rarely "accidents." A firearm accident is when the gun malfunctions, such as going full automatic with a single pull of the trigger or the firearm exploding or discharging without the trigger being pulled. 99% of firearm accidents are because of negligence/ bad behavior.

    Wealth

He certainly criticized the love of wealth, one attribute of the natural man. When we live by the Light of Christ, we find ways to put our wealth to worthwhile use in helping others. When we join the Church, we also consecrate our wealth according the system in place (currently tithing), and with the Gift of the Holy Ghost we can do more than with the Light of Christ. All we can do personally is act within the "bounds of our habitation" the Lord has determined and appointed to us (Acts 17:26-31). We can do a lot more when united as saints in the Church organization.

    Wealth

Perhaps a slight detour but nonetheless related in that it provides perspective on seeking wealth. D&C 82:18 And all this for the benefit of the church of the living God, that every man may improve upon his talent, that every man may gain other talents, yea, even an hundred fold, to be cast into the Lord’s storehouse, to become the common property of the whole church— 19 Every man seeking the interest of his neighbor, and doing all things with an eye single to the glory of God. So talents, in every manifestation of the word, if sought after, should be done with the view of building the kingdom of God. Of course not every talent is of equal value. But this perspective could dramatically alter what talents we choose to develop as well as their use.

    Wealth

Jacob 2:17 Think of your brethren like unto yourselves, and be familiar with all and free with your substance, that they may be rich like unto you. I think in the Lord's eyes wealth is no different than any other gift he chooses to bestow upon us, done so with the intent of blessing others. But all too often we confuse ownership and stewardship. And even when we recognize our stewardship, application of the principle is murky at times.

  6. I believe that everyone should read this thread and seriously consider the advice. That we ought to fast and pray concerning our each individual and family circumstance and seek precise revelation as to what we need to do - and do it. The traveler
