1. Thanks for the very warm welcomes/welcome backs! :) Pam ~ yes, my dh and I met online, but not on LDSTalk. We both joined LDSTalk about 6 months or so after we got married. Maureen ~ we're doing well. How are you and yours? I think of you whenever I "talk" to Dionne or read her blog. :)
2. Yes, I've been "liahonagirl" for my entire existence on message boards I think . . . :) Thank you all so much for the kind welcomes . . .
3. Hello! My husband (enlightenme) and I used to post fairly regularly here back when it was LDSTalk. Not sure if any of you will remember or not . . . :) My name is Kate, and I'm from Alberta, Canada. I'm married to a wonderful man named James and we have an 8 year old son named Christopher. I'm a part-time nanny by "profession". I was born and raised having a knowledge of the Gospel of Christ. I'm active in the Church, and serve as our ward's Music Chair right now. Not sure what else to say right now really, so I'll sign off by saying "see you on the boards!" :)
4. So Mr. Advocate -- It would seem that you are a strict follwer of the Law of Moses . . . does this mean you believe in blood sacrifice too?
5. But isn't the issue here choice . . . sure plenty of men who didn't want to be fathers end up paying child support, but in those cases, they willingly participated in the sex act. With rape . . . ? I say a man who was raped shouldn't be held accountable for actions he had absolutely no control over.
6. woohoo Faerie . . . congrats to you, the dh, and the little sweetie for making it here!
7. I am glad that they are doing that. I personally hope to be able to contribute some from my husband's paycheque tomorrow towards relief . . . It's so sad to me when so many of our brothers and sisters are suffering. Now that my husband's pay will be more than we need for the bare necessities, I want to contribute more to fast offerings, etc. Everyone doing their part helps.
8. Ahh -- that'd be the explanation . . . I'd already signed up for their newsletter.
9. been there, done that, STILL not asking for my email/zip . . .
10. 5' even on a good day . . . and i said one of if not the . . . lol
11. Who's looking down on whom here? I can bet dollars to donuts I'm one of if not THE shortest adult on this site!
12. Interesting . . . I see nowhere where it asks me for my email or zip code (not that I have one anyways) . . .
13. We did the "Secret Santa" thing last year for a less-fortunate family we know. This year, we are considering waiting to do our "Christmas service" until later on in the new year, when people might not be expecting it as much. We're not sure. But we have loved providing service to those around us. Truly the meaning of Christmas is found in Christ-like giving! :)
14. I think the key to why perhaps lies in the subtitle to the Book of Mormon itself . . . it is "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" . . . an additional witness . . .
