  1. Heaven Is A Place on Earth - Belinda Carlisle
  2. Hi Teancum18. First i would like to repeat what has been said so many times before, and that is this "Our father is not a god of confusion" nothing he has had written in the scriptures was meant to confuse us. I am a firm believer in that the scriptures are there for learned and unlearned alike, so what you see is what you get, no " Hmm it says this but i think it means this" well not in my unlearned searching for the truths, which heavenly father has made plain in the Holy bible and in book of Mormon. If it says that Our heavenly father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three seperate beings in one godhead, then that is the way it is, otherwise Heavenly father would indeed be a god of confusion. If you agree that the scriptures are for everyone, then there is no way they would be there to cause us to recoil at what would be such confusion on the subject, it is not a game of wits, knowledge, or "i know the bible more than you, because i was lucky enough to be able to go to bible college". It is lovely to me to know what the Godhead is, it is such a simple thing, and yes it should be a simple thing, something for every person on this earth to cherish and love without confusion. This is my addition to the great debate lol.
  3. Hi Georgia, we are true Christians, we are not what the rest of the world class as Christians. We Christians are they that were Christians before some guys came together to decide on what a Christian would be. So worry not what the rest of the world say you are, you know and our father in heaven knows, this is what matters.
  4. Hey gunslinger, i can certainly relate to your experiences of the Holy Spirit, and what beautiful experiences these are. Sometimes they are so overpowering they can render one almost speechless, throughout your entire body, your own spirit is so overjoyed with this reunion with the Holy Ghost, it is as if it is busting out of your body, and i think this will be the way it is with all members of the church who love and will listen and open themselves up to this great and marvellous happening. You guys who say nothing happens to you, that you love Our father, and Jesus along with the Holy Ghost so very much, but still nothing happens, all i can say is this. Do not look for these signs, just carry on with your good work, love one another, be kind to one another, and you will not be disappointed, maybe we are blessed to feel the way we do, and maybe also we need this extra push from Our father to keep us where we are, lest we forget who we are. You guys are still so strong, your faith must be so strong, you do not waver, you keep pushing on through the trials of this life with your faith, your hope, your charity for others, you know who you are, you know where you belong and because of your faith i love you all. I read so much stuff here from members, and non members, for non members to be here then they are here for one of two reasons only. Heavenly father has sent them and they will become members, because of their genuine interest in the love and good this site spews forth. Any one of these has already had a seed planted, so it will grow no matter what. Or they are sent forth by that age old adversary Satan, to try to put doubts into the minds of man and lead us away, but the spirit is so strong here, it just gets gobbled up and feeds our true beliefs.
  5. Hi Erik, You were born into the church, you were taught for many years who Jesus is, and you understood and still know exactly who he is. I would like to ask you a question Erik, why have you now turned away from knowing who Jesus is, i think this is a fair question. I am asking you this as i am very curious why you no longer feel that Our father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are separate governing bodies that make up one Godhead in heaven. After all your learning/teachings concerning Our father in heaven over the years, how long did it take for you to put them aside.
  6. Hi There mcdoodle, I am so pleased for you to be investigating the church, it is an exiting time, and i can understand you being afraid, it is a huge step in your life to be making. Now let me tell you about these Missionaries. There is absolutely nothing to be afraid of, these guys and girls have the Holy spirit with them and when people take the time, as you will, you will feel this spirit radiating from them sooooo, much, they are truly loving, caring, hard working, and committed in what they do. From the word go, they felt like part of my family and i welcomed them as such, they laugh and cry like us all, and they will not let you down. When i first met them i thought they were arrogant young Americans, and over here lol, but they were no arrogant at all they were enjoying life to the full, doing Christs work, they had their down days, being so far away from their loving families, but i could give to them and make them part of my family, In the end i was as proud of these guys as i would be of my own children. Dear Heavenly father please watch over the Missionaries, bless them and watch over them, keep them strong and safe, comfort them whilst they are away from their families. Father i say these things to you in the name of Your son, Jesus Christ, Amen.
  7. You are correct, how can there be an age at where one can bear a testimony, i would never stop anyone for fear of my fathers wrath. After all are we not all gods children, young and old.
  8. Thank you Hemidakota, my view exactly. Some members have such a hard time speaking in front of people, but when the Spirit nudges them out of their seat (sometimes under protest lol) it is a lovely thing, the spirit will be so close to them he will make the person sharing their testimony so full of the holy spirit that it is hard for them to stop this pouring out of their reasons for loving heavenly father, loving Jesus, why and what brought them into the church. Do not take this moment away from them, do not sit looking at your watches, this person will notice everything going on in the room, if you do not want to be there then dont be there, but do stay as you may see and feel a lot of love being poured out from the Holy Ghost.. This is the Testimony bearers moment, no i feel there is no rules as to how this should go, you just go ahead and speak your heart out and god bless you for feeding his children with your true words of love and kindness.
  9. As already said, why would you be hated here, it is not in my nature to hate anyone or anything. Below is why i would think you were truly blessed in the church. I feel that it must be harder for those born into the church to loving LDS parents, they have the spirit all around them from the word go, so as you grow up this love of the Holy Ghost is all around you, you are used to it being there. We converts find becoming members of such a loving community so overwhelming, it is a huge change to anything we have experienced before in our lives, we have the joy of the holy spirit litteraly over powering our very own spirits, which is all so very new and shocking to us, we are truly blessed for this new experience. But you guys are also so very blessed to have been given a "Head start", to have had these beautiful teachings, to have heard so much talk about Heavenly fathers love, and the teachings of Jesus, throughout your youth. I do feel that you are blessed, and you guys do continue to be our teachers, both Morally and spiritually. I read here a lot about you guys that are born into the "Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints" a lot of you say that you feel nothing when you pray for an answer from heavenly father, then maybe just maybe it is because you are already because of your lineage through your parents and grandparents, that you already have your answers through your upbringing, the "feelings" that you are looking for are already there, we as converts do not already know so when these experiences happen we are able to recognise the changes and it is most beautifull to us. I hope you know what i am talking about here. I would love to have been born into the church, being taught the true path of life from my beginning of life on earth, but i also am so greatfull for being able to recognise The power of the Holy ghost over my reborn spirit into the church.
  10. rameumptom, Thank you for putting the above into such simple words, its what i was trying to say earlier in the thread basicly, i do not need to be a Christian as the world defines "Christian" The church if you like are of the original stamp of what a Christian is/should be, in which case it is us that are "Christians" and not indeed the rest of the world (Oh am i allowed to say such a thing) lol, i will be in trouble again for daring to speak my mind. So we can indeed hold our heads high and be the Christians that were about before some old men got together and defined what a christian "is to be".
  11. Thank you justamere10, i understand where you are coming from. I do know that the church is 100% a Christian church as is its members, But i do not care that the rest of the denominations see us as non christian. Thanks
  12. Hi justamere10, I am not doubting the meaning of the word "Christian" just that looking back over the many years that it has been used, i am not to sure if (to myself) it is an appropriate label nowadays, for we are told by the world that we are not christian. Let me be bold as to ask this of you justamere10, do you want the world to see you as a Christian, or are you happy just knowing that you are a Christian.
  13. Me, well i love "Anties" without them i fear that my faith may indeed relax somewhat lol. Whenever i encounter an Antie, i feel blessed that heavenly father has sent this person along to strenghen my testimoney, and it works every time, for they are the complete opposite in their mission to what Jesus was like when he walked on gods earth and the love he showed to others. They are completely different also to our own missionaries who also show the love and kindness of Jesus, through their words and works, and dedication in what they offer to the world. As for being a christian, who cares whether the world call you christian, you are not of this world. I have seen the works of lots of "Christians" around the world over the years, hundreds of years, most of it makes me sad, i have said before, where do we figure in the world once we are seen as Christians, do we become members of the "worlds council of churches", do we then have to listen to the heads of this so called council, do we not at times have problems listening to our very own leaders of "the church of Jesus christ of latter day saints". So stop worrying about wether the world see's you as "Christian" today it really is not important, i for one would find this Label not so very nessasary. You my brothers and sisters know how much you "ALL" Love Jesus, and how much he loves you. Being called a Christian by the world is not so important now is it. God bless you all
  14. The way i look upon the situation is that one or one hundred innocent deaths is to many, no excuses in gods eyes, if any rockets are fired indiscrimanatly by either side, and people are killed, then those people that caused these deaths will be held accountable by god.
  15. I would like to wish peace and happiness on the world for the new year, i will pray for those who are suffering in the middle east on all sides, i will pray through Jesus christ for our father to stop the tit for tat one upmanship that is destroying so many lives and famalies. A happy 2009 to you all. Jim
  16. Not seen anything on UK tv about the protesters.
  17. Yes and its called, personal revelation, it means we are not programmed to all hear the same thing, we have a personal relationship with our heavenly father, who if permitted will answer/speak to us, and let us know, and reassure us of his love for us.
  18. Hi misshalfway. I am sure that some guys are born this way, i am sure i am not the only person here that has thoughout my life seen some very effeminate young male children, please do not think i am being unkind to anyone, i am only stating what i have seen. One of these children was a member of an LDS family, and a fine upstanding family i must add. This young man is now in his twenties and yes he is a practicing Homosexual. So you see, " yes " people can indeed be born this way.
  19. Just a thought. What about unclean thoughts, if a guy or girl has these thoughts before refusing oneself to act on them, is this not still a sin, and in having these thoughts towards someone of the same sex, is this the same as fulfilling ones desires. I think this gets very complicated if one delves to deep. thanks
  20. Hi Bookmeister, thank you for having the courage to speak out as you will. I would just like to add, If you are a member of "Any" church and truly believe in god, then you know it is a sin to act on such urges. Thats it lol, carry on.
  21. Man alone has decided on what a christian is, this is why it matters not that others say that we are not Christians. We are followers of Jesus the Christ, this is what matters. Let the rest of mankind call themselves what they will, if they wish to be subject to what man says they are, again so be it. I believe in god the father and in his son Jesus Christ and in the holy Ghost, and so be it. I am not going to try to convince others as to whether Jesus, heavenly father and the holy spirit are of one flesh or three separate entities, they have already been convinced of this by a group of very intelligent intellectual old men sitting in council in Nice many many years ago. These guys by coming to their "OWN" decision on the Almighty, have also paved the way as to what a Christian is. so please remember none of it is from heavenly father. It matters not one jot what the rest of mankind think they are, but you know who you are.
  22. I " think " i know where Elgama is coming from. I know 100% that we as LDS are Christians. But lets look at it this way, do we want/need to be accepted as Christians by all other denominations, i think not, the reason for this is this. If the day comes when we are seen as Christians, what then, whats the next move, do we then become members of the " world council of churches ", would we then be dominant to their decisions and governing. Remember folks " we are a peculiar people, we are not of this world " Just my thoughts.
  23. Oligith1 i feel that you are a fine example of what it is to sacrifice ones self, and in doing so i can see that you are a great role model for others that may find themselves in such a situation. It shows the great respect you do have for your heavenly fathers wishes, that you do indeed know what he would have you do. You will be much blessed because of your sacrifices. Stand strong brother, and do not bend in the wind of the storm that may be heading your way because of the true love you have for your family and for heavenly father. Remember we are here for you. I have great respect for you, i know you will go far in helping to build strong bridges in the church. Hope my words dident sound patronizing, they were not meant to be.
  24. abqfriend, thank you so very much for your kind words for our missionaries, it does mean a lot to me, because i remember the day i first met with them. Thanks again
