  1. Ok, first of all Alleluia707, calm down and take a breath........are you good now? Did you get it all off your chest? Can we honestly talk like mature adults or are you going to flip a circuit? If you pick the first then great! Welcome to the site. If you pick the latter than I suggest you move on. A long time ago back in Missouri there was an actual extermination order on Mormons. It was legal to kill a Mormon in Missouri I think even up to about the 1970's. Don't quote me on that though. Im not possitive how long it was legal. Anyway back in the days of Joseph Smith people wanted us dead. There were only a few thousand members at that time and they couldn't get rid of us then. Now with hundreds of millions of us I guarantee you stand absolutely no chance of getting rid of us now. We're here to stay and you'll just have to deal with it. Joseph Smith didn't add to anything. The Lord did. I would also suggest you actually study any LDS canon before you assume you know what it means. Otherwise you just look dumb to those who actually understand it. Just a little helpful hint.
  2. Mine is Pirate Anita the Cash-Strapped. How true, how true. How much do Pirates pay for corn? A buck an ear!
  3. My H is 34 and going back to school too. If it will better you and your situation how can it be nuts? My H is actually pretty peeved he didnt do it sooner. He'd say your nuts if you put it off any longer.
  4. Theres an episode of cheers where Rebecca says, "Why can't more men send flowers?" Sam then says, "Mormons cant send flowers? I knew they couldnt dance." There's more to it and its really funny. You should youtube it.
  5. My H has IBS so i cant cook with oats or wheat.

    Fear

Schizophrenia runs in my family. I've always been deathly afraid of seeing or hearing things. Sometimes late at night I'm afraid to go to the bathroom just incase. I have absolutely no symptoms what so ever except for the paranoia that it might happen some day. I've seen 1st hand what it can do and its a scary disease.
  8. I spent weekends with my aunt and uncle growing up. They are second parents to me. (Sometimes they seem like first parents to me.) When I was about 9 yrs old my aunt was in bed sick. Her monthly cycle was always very painful. I wanted her do come out and do stuff with me but she wouldnt. My uncle then decided to tell me his version of Adam and Eve. He told me that because Eve was a wicked woman God punished ALL women with a painful period every month. Needless to say my uncle is very convincing and I asked my aunt about it later. Let's just say he was in a lot of trouble. Now whenever the subject comes up all I can do is laugh.
  9. I love this picture....hmmmmm. (you've sent me off in dreamland)
  10. Henry Winkler would be a good guest. I love him! I just want to clear this up. The guests may be living or dead. Thanks for playing guys!
  11. Ok this is going to be the 2nd time I mention Golden Girls on these forums, but I watched an episode last night where Rose is at a dinner party for college professors. She's asked "If you were having dinner and could invite only 2 people living or dead who would it be?" Her answer was something like (I cant remember word for word) "I would want it to be my 2 best friends, but would it be ok if Jesus came for desert?" Obviously for the humor the intellectuals walked away annoyed. Well it got me thinking. Who would I invite? I think right now I would want Joseph and Emma Smith to be my two guests. I just have so many questions about how they felt personally durring the restoration. So here's my question. Who would you invite and why? Doesnt have to be spiritual. Could be anyone. The reason I picked Joseph and Emma is because I have just recently become very interested in church history. A couple months ago Jerry Seinfeld would probably have been one of them. (I think he'd be a fun conversationalist.)
  12. My H kills spiders. It may seem small but its important to me. He even caught a mouse in my mom's house with his hands. He used a paper towel, but he actually grabbed it. No trap just pure man! There's nothing hotter than a real man. I could also go on and on about my Grandpa, but it would be really long and it would have me bawling like mad. He was my main man until he passed away. The year after that I met my H, so luckily I wasnt without a good man for long.
  13. Thank you. I love that we can be here together to learn about each others beliefs. In light of those who come here to tell us how wrong we are, I think I speak for all of us when I say how blessed we are to have you here. I have to agree with bytor. I LOVE our sacrament. It is the one time when the chapel is completely silent. Ok nearly completely silent. You have the babies cooing or crying, but other than that it is completely reverent. Even young children will bow their heads in reverence. Most of them have a basic understanding of the importance of that moment. Definately not a full understanding, but a very basic one. My son who will be 3 at the end of November knows that he is supposed to be thinking of Jesus. Believe me, its hard for him, but he trys. He does really well too. He usually needs a book to look at to help him stay quiet, but he knows its an important time.
  14. There was a Golden Girls episode about that. Man, I'm only 26 years old and I absolutely love that show.
  15. I may need to get me one of the "Unsaved people please identify yourselves" shirts. The witch one would be fun to have.
  16. Traditionally its bread and water. The way I look at it is lets say there was some kind of disaster where certain items were unattainable. Say there is no bread available. It is more important to take the sacrament. Therefore we would substitute bread with something similar. What would the Catholic church do in such a matter? Just out of curiousity.
  17. Was this ok or should I have said, "and it didnt work"?
  18. Have you been watching Bee Movie? Bzzz Bzzzz Bzz Bzz.
  19. My Father-in-law remarried after 6 months. It was devistating for his children who ranged from early 20's to 5 years old. My H says it was mainly because he couldnt raise the remaining 5 of 9 children on his own. Unfortunately he picked the wrong woman. Its amazing, as someone just coming into the family, to see the difference in the kids. The youngest is about 22 now. My H was the oldest of the remaining 5. He was 16 at the time. He has struggled with MANY things. I am his 3rd wife. The 1st 2 were not the best choices. I could go into detail but I think some things are better left unsaid. He turned out to be one of the better kids out of the 5. 3 of the older 4 are extremely active in the church. Only 1 of the younger 4 is active and my H is between them. He's starting to lean towards the more active side now. My influence ya know;). The 3 younger inactive sibs were into drugs. One a complete meth addict. Its just amazing to see the difference. Now I blame the person she is for the way they turned out not that they married so soon, but maybe if they waited longer my FIL would have seen what kind of mother she really was. BTW...only 1 of her 4 or 5 kids is active. The others are drug addicts. One even OD'd a couple years ago.
  20. You're the Dr! The only problem is I tried but it didnt work. Do you know how I change it?
  21. Thanks guys. Thanks for the websites Wingnut. I'll have to check them out tomorrow. I try not to be on the computer too much on Sundays. Just thought I'd get on to see if there was anything I could throw together for dinner. Thanks again everyone!
  22. I think I've said this to you guys before, but I don't believe in aliens (except the ones that cross the boarder:D), but I definatley believe in things unexplainable. I want to go to Loch Ness so bad, but you wont find me swimming in the water. I dont think I'd even go out on a boat. Actually I would. I wouldnt go all they way there and just look at the water, but I'd be freaked out the whole time. There's no doubt in my mind Nessie's there. I think its arrogant (sp?) for us (especially scientist) to assume we know it all or to think we can figure everything out on our own. We will only know it all when the Lord chooses to reveal it all.
  23. Awesome! Congrats on your little a-train jr. He's adorable, and your wife is absolutely beautiful in her hospital bed. I definately wasnt so I'm jealous.
  24. Anyone have any good recipes? Yummy ones that are also good for you. I dont have any and I really want to be eating better.
