  1. Applepansy...haha...this is embarrassing but I went to the DC once and was getting super frustrated buying one top, trying it on in the dressing room, not having it fit, having to buy another one, try it on..etc etc...so I finally got a lady in there with me with a few options and I showed her the difference between the regular tops and the tall tops. She had no idea there wasn't much of a difference except the sleeves were 3 inches longer. She had no idea what to tell me! I was sooo frustrated!
  2. yeah, I have been wearing them for a little over 2 years now and I lived pretty close to a really big Distribution Center in SLC so I would try a lot of different kinds but i honestly had no idea where to even start sometimes! hahah. Do the chemise tops 'tuck in' ok? or do you not tuck yours in??
  3. I do use the Petite bottoms. I think I'm just going to have to get use to the uncomfortable waist, I think that's my biggest issue there. It seems like I'd like a silkier top but the ones I've tried have been the "belly shirt" type I was talking about. Super short like maybe htiting my belly button haha. That and I'm pretty small busted so I don't fill out the cups in them. So, when I wear those they sit short and baggy under my shirt and bunch all over the place haha. Does anyone know of some tighter tops (it seems like I can never find any thin enough to fit me and long enough to not bunch under my clothes) that are a longer style?
  4. This might be an uncomfortable question to ask, and even inappropriate so if it is just let me know and I won't take offense if it needs to be removed. Basically, I've been married for almost 4 years, but it wasn't too long ago that I started wearing Temple Garments. As awful as I feel saying this, I totally hate wearing them! But it seems like all my girlfriends and every woman I know that wears them has zero problem with them like they're the most comfortable non-problematic thing and it boggles my mind. I can't just buy a different kind every day to see if it works cause the money adds up. So my question is: I have tried a few different kinds but can't remember what kinds. I would LOOOVVE love love any advice the women have in what kind they have found that works for them because I really want to change my attitude towards them. Here are a few of my top "issues" that I've developed: 1) The elastic-type waist. I don't know why I don't like it, and I realize that's not something that can be changed so I'll move on haha. 2) I feel like no matter what kinds I try, the waist I get is always way higher than the ones I have seen other women wearing. Is it possible that I really am just finding the only ones that are ridiculously high waisted? I know that they are meant for the "natural waist-line" but I wonder if I'm getting an extreme form of that andit makes me feel like I'm suffocating with a rubber band around my waist?. 3) I have a really long torso. No matter what kind of top I've gotten, it's almost like a belly shirt and will either barely tuck in but always come untucked, or it won't tuck in at all and bunches up under my clothes. I've tried getting the "Tall" sizes, and they were maybe like half an inch longer which didn't help much, or they were the same length but the sleeves grew 3 inches so even with my modest tops on, the sleeves were poking out and I felt horrriibblle. 4) I know for a fact that I don't like the cotton bottoms. They are way too thick and too hot for me, but I've recently been suffering from frequent girl "infections" (if you know what I mean) and everything I've read says to avoid tight waist band underwear and avoid silky underwear. Two of those things I'm having a hard time avoiding, unless some of you know of something else??!! I know this is a private matter but I've asked a few women and they always look at me like they have no idea what i'm talking about when I ask so...I gave up on the whole " what kind of underwear do you wear cause I hate mine" chat hahah. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Please know I'm not trying to "bash" temple garments. I know their significance and importance and that is why I'm trying to take some steps to feeling better about them. My intentions are good I promise!! :) PS-while I'm at it, I'm now pregnant and will probably be needing maternity ones??? I have never warn them before either sooooo advice there too is welcome!

    Coming Clean

All I can say is that I hope they accept you anyways and treat you the same. I'm straight up LDS and while I hope my children will stay faithful with the church I don't plan on leading them to think that they mean less to me if they choose a different path. Your concerns are fair, but I think they will love you no matter what and will always welcome you. :) Good luck.
  6. Haha, well done Pale!!! Well done.
  7. I've been a member all my life and I still get questions that pop up that may seem "silly" or "obvious" to others. Just because I've been a member doesn't mean I grew up in an active LDS family, and I didn't start thinking on my own about the church until high school. I was the kid in seminary asking the annoying obvious questions that everyone rolled their eyes at.
  8. I did read either a talk or an article or something by a General Authority about the idea that everyone is so concerned about "who what where when meee??? him??? my kids!!!! I'll never be with them!!" ect. ect., and he said that as long as you are living worthily and keeping close to God, keeping your covenants to the best of your knowledge and abilities, everything will be worked out in the after life in your favor. Another random thought is that yes, I would worry about who my daughter would be sealed to if something something happened and yada yada, but at the same time, I don't really worry about if I'm going to be sealed to my parents??? I will just want to be sealed to a companion at the very least, even though so much much more is possible to create the big eternal family circle we strive for. So, it can get complicated with such and such rules but I personally feel like the only people that will be left unsatisfied with the end results will be those who were and continue to be unfaithful to God in this life and the next.
  9. You deserve the respect of knowing where she is and what she is up to. I think it's fair for you to ask her or just say you know where she is and would like to know if you can help in any way. She doesn't need to know how you know where she is.
  10. Yeah it's not impossible or unallowed or anything I don't think. My husband taught MC Hammer and all kinds of rappers and what not in California. But I think it is difficult given their amounts of privacy and settings...can't really just walk up to their doors on most of them! However, I think I heard that famous LDS members are not encouraged to go on missions??? I don't know if that's right!! But like David Archuleta should he choose to go I think I heard that it would be best for him not to. Something? Help on that one.
  11. What if it IS straight up because she doesn't feel happy with herself looking that way? Sure, saggy droopy skin doesn't necessary pose great medical risks all the time. But are we not suppose to take care of our bodies and represent ourselves well? I say if it is damaging her self esteem that badly and she would honestly feel more of a motivated, healthy person that she is and wants to portray, she should take the proper steps to do it! Maybe talk to your bishop to express your concern about it to him is a better idea though than to ask a room full of opinionated ramblers hahah! He is given the ability to recieve revelation to help those in need and those who are struggling and come to him seeking advice. Go for it! :) About the breast enhancement surgery..I don't know how I feel about that one. On one hand I absolutely agree that it should be done only if it's medically an option (ie; breast removed, deformed after complications, ect.) But then on the other hand, a marriage who's intimacy is suffering because of severe lack of self esteem may or may not be improved with self improvement. But then I also think that self esteem doesn't have to be "boosted" by surgery either! Haha, I don't know. Slippery slope on that one but I am definitely not quick to judge an LDS woman who has them.
  12. I'm actually reading the Book of Mormon for the first time right now. HOLY COW....I don't know why but I have to ask atLEAST 20 questions after every single chapter. I didn't grow up in an active family household so the people and where they were and why they were there completely threw me off! And Isaiah is crazy haha. Andrew, if you're going to read it and want to understand it your first time through grab a reading buddy of some kind (or maybe I'm just super simple minded and need a lot of explaining?? haha). However, simply reading it through is not a bad idea at all. The same spirit will follow whether you are understanding whats on the page or not in my experience :)! Good luck!
  13. Is having breast enhancement surgery against the church?
  14. You know what's even COOLER is that my brother looks like a turtle. And I CAN prove that. I welcome challenges on it. Enjoy this discussion everyone, he's allllll yours!!!!
  15. But a woman isn't "allowed" to be sealed to more than one man right?? So if she gets re-married and sealed to someone after her non-member husband has passed away and he repents in the next life, will she have the chance to choose if she wants to be sealed to him when she dies?? Or does he just repent and get sealed to someone new while she stays sealed to the new guy?
  16. Yeah I've heard of couples doing what I would call a "trial marriage" haha where they get married civily and test it out to see if it's really what they want so they have an easier way out if they change their minds.
  17. Interesting to me how even the bubbly married couple with a child that look so happy together and are completely active in church could quite possibly be less worthy to take the sacrament than you. I know that much.
  18. Ooo I thought of another one. This was one of those combined ones with the young men. Each group (deacons, beehives, miamaids, ect..) made their own skit video. Kind of like a Saturday Night Live thing. We could do whatever we wanted (leadership approved though) and then we all got together the next week in the gym with popcorn and pulled the projector out and watched all the skits!! The leaders previously made little tin foil trophy's and picked categories to hand out winners for. Best stunt, wittiest line, ect.
  19. Hmm I know for a summer activity, we got the volleyball nets adn took them outside in the grass. Then we played Water ballon volleyball! Each person pairs up with someone else and they each take one side of a towel. Stick the balloon on the towel and launch!! Multiple pairs are on each side though of course. Then we spent like 10 minutes cleaning up the popped balloons haha. It was fun. As for the colder weather, we had a girls night!!! We had a girl that was a hair dresser from the ward come and teach us fun things to do with our hair like "teasing" and how to do it certain ways and hair care. And then we were taught how to put on face masks and had nail polish and all kinds of stuff! It was really fun we all wore pajamas and did the cucumber stuff. All kinds. It was great!
  20. I agree completely. I've posted this particular Blog Post of mine before but it goes along hand in hand with what you're saying :) Give More-Worry Less: Simplicity-A Spiritual Thought by Me!
  21. You forgot me on that favorites list....
  22. Okay so this is going to be really lame advice since it will not be specific at all. But I am currently reading The Peacegiver and I've already decided that I'm giong to put all my other books on hold just so I can reread this one with a highlighter and a notebook to jot down things that stand out to me or impact me in some way. And there is a LOT. The books centers around a struggling couple in the LDS church, and it creates parables between situations like that and old stories such as jonah and the whale. It's AMAZING!!! I highly recommend it for your situation.
  23. Ah, thanks I was just assuming you were active asking random trivial questions that had nothing to do with your salvation. hahah. I have no idea how to answer your question for reals though..I'm sorry.
  24. That was a great read for me!! Thank you so much for sharing I needed that today :)
