  1. I took a hairpin turn going WAY too fast, lost traction, and hit a curb. I had my left leg straight and pressing on the underwell, and the impact did some really bad things to my knee (so no actual break). The car looks perfectly fine on the outside, but there's several thousand dollars worth of damage to the suspension
  2. If you want to date someone with a large age difference, you can always do it outside of the singles group. Anyways, it's about more than that, you also need to relate to the people you're hanging around with. Also, I wouldn't have wanted my sister to be dating older men (I have a psychological limit of a ~10 year age difference, depending on the individuals in question).
  3. Hey, I was a member for nine years, but went agnostic when I turned 18. I still try to defend the church from ignorant comments though, surprisingly often, so hopefully I can turn to these boards whenever my knowledge is lacking (such as it was in my first thread, regarding archeology). I own a few websites (one just hit #1 on Google for the relevant search term, and has a large Religion subforum in the BBs), so I can at least keep my little corner of the internet clean from the misinformation that is so prevalent. Anyways, we should get along, I just wanted to introduce myself since I broke my leg in a crash and might be spending a lot of time online for a bit.
  4. I agree that the timetables cannot be rectified, but at the very minimum, it could be taken as a sign that the Jaredites ~2500 BC or the Nephites/Lamanites ~600 BC, COULD possibly have made the trip. This is less a pure religious argument as it is disputing the fact that ALL migrants came from the straights, as evidence currently only proves for North America. There is no trail south however. If the timetable in the article is assumed to be correct, am I to understand that there may have already been people in the region when both groups arrived? Does the Book of Mormon mention anyone, or is that unclear? PS: this wiki is a veritable wealth of information on the topic of Mormon archeology.
  5. Source Study confirms ancient Chile settlement is 14,000 years old A settlement in Chile this early could point towards their use of boats rather than the long hike from the frozen straights. Also, a society that was based on water may also imply the use of boats. I know I'm jumping to conclusions and that this sort of deal needs confirmation from the higher ups. I want to know your personal opinions though, so what do you think?
