  1. Am I correct in my information? When we get to the Spirit World we we all be practicing polygamy. Well who knows. I have found that not all polygamy sects are as odd as the flds is to me. Some have a pretty interesting way to live that they can live in harmony with everyone else and no one but them knows that they are polygamous. If we do not look at polygamy through carnal eyes we would see the logic in it. Sex should not be for recreational purposes (although many of us would be very disappointed) but for procreation. Also if as we Mormans believe that when we die and if we recieve the greatest degree of glory than we will be able to create worlds ourselves. How are we going to be able to balance "worlds" if we can only balance one family? At first I viewed polygamy as disgusting. But now that i understand a little better I see it as a much needed lesson. If it is practiced correctly. And not carnally.
  2. Thanks PC! You are amazing. And a very good example to me. I appreciate how you have answered Deb's question without saying you should be this way or that way. I feel that it really shouldn't matter what religion you are. We should all just be nice to everyone no matter what. I'm sure that is what Our Father in heaven really wants from us. As does any parent. Oh And Deb the best way to figure out what is true is to pray and listen for the Lord to answer. He always knows whats best. And welcome to the forum.
  3. I hope all went well!!! Please let us nosy people (meaning me) know k. thanks
  4. I hope we are talking about then and not now!!! My great grandmother was the daughter of a polygamous father who had I believe 2 wives. But further back in my family history a generation or so it was a wonder we could even find a particular fork in the tree there were so many different wives and families. I just hope we've got every one in the right place.
  5. thanks for the laugh I too have some extra flesh to donate, but remember that the blessings you recieve from paying an honest tithe and a hansom fast offering far "out weigh" what we have in extra flesh. Happiness brings fattness for some strange reason!!!
  6. I think we learned to be the most Christ like in kindergarten! We should just be nice to everyone no matter what and then our goal of achieving Zion will be accomplished. It does'nt mean that you have to give up or change everything to be nice. Just take a good look at our Savior in all reality he was just being nice to everyone. By healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and clothing the naked geez i think its the least we can do. We don't have to single handedly save the world. Just be nice to those we come in contact with even if they are not being nice. Being nice is the simplest form of love. The #1 rule in our home is "be nice" everything falls under this heading.
  7. Thanks utcowboy for putting that scripture reference in your post!!! Anyway when Ut told me that scripture we had already been thru the temple but only once and i was wondering just exactly what church i had joined. I was so freaked out that I really wasn't sure if i wanted to do that again or not. So over the next couple of days we talked about our feelings and experiences and of how we percieved the endowment. And my wonderful husband helped me to understand that the things of god will seem foolish and odd to the natural man. Which was how i was percieving the endowment at that time now i can look at it in a much better light and understand that it just enhances the plan of salvation. Be patient and know that you are truly loved by our father in heaven. Also remember that we are invited to return to the temple as many times as we wish so that we may enjoy the blessings we will recieve and to learn more of the endowment. Also go back and enjoy the other ordinances that are also performed only in the temple they will help you to remember the many blessing you will be given during your own endowment.
  8. Aloha and welcome hope you enjoy the forum as much as i do
  9. Congrats on your endowment.!!!! That is awesome just remember that the things of the Lord will seem foolish to the natural man. So keep going to the temple as often as possible, and wear your "G's" they are a great protection and a reminder of who you represent.
  10. Well for me, I was a teenage mother, I had my first child before i turned sixteen. And yes life was very hard and i am very very thankful for those women who stood up for us so that we could support ourselves. If it were not for those women i would not have been able to take care of my daughter. No the womens movement did not kill the family unit the government and the economy through did greed by raising taxes and prices so that the singleincome family could no longer survive. And by taking that last parent out of the home we have created a disfunctional society. Just look at the children who are going to lead us they have very little if any work ethic. They have no self respect or respect for others. They have no or very little disipline because the government has removed it, and taken away the parents authority, so now some parents are afraid to disipline due to a fear of being accused of child abuse. And without disipline the crime level has risen and we are afraid to let our children out of our sight. Whew were did that come from sorry I'm not looking to offend anyone
  11. 15 5 gallon buckets will fit under a twin bed just get a bed skirt to cover it. Also IKEA is the best store to shop for furniture and home accessories it is geared for compact spaces.Welcome to IKEA.com I store most everything in my basement but i would gladly give up living space for food storage. The painting cans idea was awesome I think i will use that to put book shelves on one wall of my dining room. Ive been trying to figure out how to do that and spend the least amount possible.

  14. Dying2B sorry if i sound rude that is not the angle i was going for. I hope we can become friends
  15. Hey your not alone! I felt the same way more than once. But the thing you need to remember is that church is like a hospital everyone there is sick spiritually and learning the gospel is like getting medicine to help us get better. You are not there for anyone else but you and your salvation. Keep going and keep reintroducing yourself until you become more comfortable. Sometimes we think that we should be welcomed into the ward instead of welcoming ourselves into the ward. Be friendly and talk to everyone they will open up to you. I have found that alot of the time people are just not sure what to say and are just as uncomfortable as you are. Most of why i felt out of place was my own doing because i felt guilty for my iniquities no one even knows anything unless you tell them. So keep going we here will be happy to support you in anything you choose to do. oh!! and welcome
  16. Also read 1 Nephi 16:1-3 that pretty much sums up how we react to the truth! And i mean all of us at some point!!!
  17. Definately I was not ready to live the gospel at first then i realized that I would never be ready if i didn"t follow the prophet's (President Kimball) advice and "Do It". You will always find an excuse if you can't control your own will power. That's one of the reasons why we have Fast Sunday to learn how to control our will power. See even here is such a little task to teach us to be ready for the harder trials that are sure to come. Yes trials are just life but why not make them as easy as possible!!!
  18. Aphrodite, I just had a thought!!! you know that we made covenants to wear our garments as a protection to us right. Well it really is such a simple request isn't it? We should not have any problems with it. I am very happy to do this small task with no complaints than be asked to sacrifice my child or to give up all of my family or my worldly things. If we can't do such a small request of our father than how do you or I expect to be able to complete the really hard tests. Doing these simple things really prepares us for the hard trials to come. That is why Our Father in Heaven asks us to follow his comandments. Doing the simple things the Lord has asked of me has helped me to understand some of the trials that I have been through. (Like the loss of my son, and helping to take cre of my now physically and mentally handicapped father.) Remember we are all here for each other. I hope you are not offended by this I really do not wish to offend anyone. :DThank you for all of your comments
  19. I have found that my garments are now just a part of my body. I do not notice a diffrence in the temperature with or with out my garments. But I have found that with out them i feel naked. I was counceled that i should only NOT wear my garments while swimming, being intimate with my husband or in the shower other than that i should wear them. The distribution center has a mesh material garment that some people have found to be more comfortable in the summer months. Sorry i do not see how 3 or 4 inches of material on the shoulder or the thigh would make you all that much. (cold) cooler.
  20. It's great to have you back!!! Welcome home.
  21. but I love peanut butter thanks for the tip. Hey another great idea is to get 5 or more 55 gal. barrels and connect them to each other with hoses and splice the first one to your main water supply coming into your home then every time you turn on the water you are rotating your water supply remember that the 1st barrel will collect all of the foriegn materials that are in the water! When connecting the barrels the "IN" hose must reach the bottom of the barrel to assure proper circulation.
  22. Hello hello hello welcome to the neighborhood.
  23. I have even cooked great meals on my car engine. Hint secure or your meal may end up as road kill lol
  24. Camping gear is always great but remember that our ancesters used fire. My great grandmother used a wood burning cook stove to cook on until she passed away in 1989. No cook stove!!!Coil up strips of card board and put them into an empty tuna can. Fill can with wax (parafin) no wick is needed, light and set in the bottom of the BBQ works great as a bunson burner!
