  1. I set my tivo to record Glenn now that hes on Fox, I find him entertaining.
  2. Nicotine gum worked for me, keep trying, its worth it!
  3. Why are his scriptoral quotes from the 1908 rlds version of the Book of Mormon?
  4. My dad was a Stake President when I was being exposed to porn at a friends house when I was 7, and the Holy Ghost didnt prompt him (he's an extremely righteous man) - I think its better to err on the side of caution, rather then wait for a prompting IMHO.
  5. Our family has a strict NO SLEEPOVERS rule. They can arrange for a "late night" and get picked up at 10 or 11, but my kids will sleep in my house under my supervision until they are adults. I went to many sleep overs when I was younger, and nothing good or spiritually uplifting ever happened, regardless of the religion of the parents. I was exposed to porn @ age 7 (on a sleepover) and at age 8,9,10,11,12,13,14............ect, you get the point. NO SLEEPOVERS for my kids, a blanket ban is easier to explain than trying to explain why 1 friend can and 1 cant. Its simply not worth it.
  6. Cell service is spotty, and quick to go during an emergency. My work requires my answering of the phone 24/7 regardless of cell service especially during an emergency. Landlines are a must for me. Put your cell phone on alert to notify you of dropped service, you will be suprised how often the networks go down. We have a landline, and 2 cell phones from different companies, so if sprint goes down, verizon will work or vice versa.
  7. I wonder how much money Larry H Miller makes from alcohol sales @ Jazz games? My good LDS neighbor owns a gas station, he sells beer there, (and cigarettes) - should he be disciplined? Thats why i'm glad that god will be the one judging us when that time comes, becasue if it were left up to some of you, nobody would stand a chance. -And as far as marriot? He has no control over the chain that bears his name? Come on people.......
  8. and its still ignored. go after the easy target, the guy in the beer commercial - oh no!
  9. You cant blame him, thats what he does for a living. I think its worse to supply in room porn in your Marriot Hotels as an active (VERY) lds member than being in a beer commercial.
  10. Thanks Hemidakota, Im trying to point out a little dilema there is here in "ZION", there are thousands of people like me, for various reasons didnt go on missions. They need to be accepted and welcomed. In my elders quorum here in utah, there are more non-missionaries that attend than returned missionaires, but everytime a lesson is taught "on my mission" is the only thing ever said. There is alot more to the church than missions, and those that didnt go begin to wonder if there is any point in continuing going to church. The most popular way to meet new people in the church = Where did you go on a mission? Lets be a little more open minded here people, and quit asking any new person you meet in your ward "so, where did you go on a mission", because they might not have.
  11. As a recent "newbie" to the online blogging of fellow church members, I say be careful what you ask for. There are MANY members of the church without a sound testimony, and some of these discussion boards bring up many questions and problems to members. Its a little disappointing when having been in the church my whole life (over 30 years) I can go online and learn things I had no idea about. The recent posting of the handbook of instructions (i had no idea male sterilization was against policy), or postings about the Spaulding papers. In my opinion, its opening up a huge can of worms.
  12. So there is no free agency in your household? I would still like to see in scripture, where it states that you MUST serve a 2 year mission. Any takers? I would love to know.
  13. Please, show me where this is written? It is people like you that make this church difficult to participate in. A mission is NOT for everyone, I didnt go. I got married and started a family instead. How many young men who didnt go on missions remain active in the church because of this attitdude? Your elitist attitude is driving more people away from the church than you "saved" on your mission. BTW. Thomas S Monson didnt go on a mission
