  1. One of the reasons I first investigated the church was the fact that they didn't believe that suicide meant hell. I believe that we have an all knowing, loving Heavenly Father that knows and understands what is in our hearts, souls, and brains. I believe that he will have a truely sad but understanding heart when dealing with someone that took their own life, especially with those that are mentally ill. Remember Jesus atoned for all our sins. Marty
  2. GREAT TOPIC 1. My son 2. My eternal companion 3. My older brother, Jesus. 4. The true gospel 5. My Heavenly Father
  3. Thank you for the reminder, It causes a few moments of sadness, but that is quickly replaced with the joy that comes with the knowledge that even though Joseph Smith died, the gospel lived on and contiued to grow. Each of us is here due to the sacrifice he made for us. Marty
  4. WOW, What a true blessing. Thanks for sharing!
  5. our ward needs this, as during fast and testimony meeting their are long periods where nobody gets up. It is actually kind of embarrassinge have a large ward but few testimony bearers. Marty
  6. WOW, So many of the things that you brought up are exactly how I have felt. When I lived in an area that had small wards and branches it seem like everyone is working to help build each other up, and strengthen testimonies working together to find the answers that people need. Now I live in an area with lots of LDS members and large wards, and if you are struggling they don't want to know it. They don't want to get personal, help, or even acknowledge that you might have doubts or questions. I certainlly glad to know that you found the answers you were seeking, and I hope that we can all be helpful to those in need here. Marty
  7. shortly after joining the church I had my PB and at that time I must say that I was not sure how true it all was. While receiving my blessings, things were told to me that only applied to me and my health that nobody knew about. I was in shock and couldn't wait to get my copy so I could read these wonderful words about me and my future again and again. I have a strong testimony of the truthfulness of by blessing and the Patriach that blessed me. Marty
  8. hello and welcome to a fello newbe. Marty;)
  9. Hello, I just found this site today. How exciting to find others that want to share their love of Christ with others. I have been LDS for 13 years. I am a 46 year old mother who raised 3 girls, and I have adopted my grandson, who is now 9 years old. He suffers from Bi-polar diorder, and was a drug affected baby. I have been married for 17 years to my best friend from school. We both had a first marriage that taught us what we didn't want in a life partner. My husband's family has always been LDS, but My husband was not active until I became a member. I am a very blessed daughter of Heavenly Father, and look forward to meeting you guys. Marty;)
