  1. Yeah, I guess in Iowa or Ohio or something like that they have a new rule where you can register to vote the day of elections, which is a horrible idea. There is no verification that the voter is supposed to be voting. Felons can not vote, but with that registration they can register and vote without anyone knowing for a good week or two until they do his background check. Meanwhile the vote is processed and they are accepted. This can also be used for phantom voters, which is just immoral I think. In most states though (such as Arizona where I am) the voter registration ends one month before the election, so this time around it's the 6th of October (Go register to vote!) and if you don't register by then, you don't get to vote in the election. We have registration locations all over the place too, every supermarket has booths to get people to register. I am just worried that there will be some sort of underhanded maneuvers going on here, especially with a few of the bluer states.
  2. LOL I would totally condone this. Perhaps next Easter me and my Singles Ward friends should go there with giant trash bags for recyclable materials and just collect the brochures all night long. That's a peaceful protest
  3. I want to say I was abstaining from sex for the past 11 months, but that was my time when I was in my divorce until I was single (about 4 months ago) and didn't really have a girlfriend. Heck I didn't even want one. We waited about 20 dates until it happened. I set up an appointment to see my Bishop on Tuesday (would have been over the weekend, but the timing was bad with General Conference) and we're going to be focusing on not doing what we have been doing. She's chickening out a bit though, she just started going back to church about a month ago at my insistence and had just been in with the bishop two weeks ago because she was inactive because of the embarrassment. But with both of us going forward with this I think it will all be okay. I will try my best to do what my Bishop says, but as bmy- said, I don't make any promises. In more interesting news, I put her ring down on layaway, it's the one she wanted and I totally have the proposal all planned out, I would post it here, but she reads the site now that I showed it to her, so no details on that
  4. Alright, I feel kind of weird about this. My girlfriend and I, whom I plan on marrying, had sex twice now, the first time over the weekend and the second last night. I know that what we did was wrong in the eyes of the Lord, but I was raised with different values than that of the church. Anyway, I guess my big question is if I should go to the Bishop with my girlfriend and tell him what is going on while I am not repentant or if I should wait until a later date. I feel that I should go to see him as soon as possible, but I'm not really sure why. I can still feel the spirit and am still given my own personal revelation, and that is what is really strange to me, I keep reading that the Holy Ghost will not be with us when we have sinned and need to repent. I think that is one of the factors in my not feeling the need to. Now for the worst thing about it all, I think that if I don't feel repentant I may seem arrogant to my Bishop, and I really like him (I'm planning on having him officiate the wedding when that comes around). I just feel that if I am not repentant that I should not go to the Bishop. He may need to know what is going on, but I am not sure what all I should do. Any advice?
  5. I do have something like this. When my ex wife and I were in the VERY early parts of dating she told me to guess her birthday because she didn't want to tell for some reason. So I spurt out September 17th and was dead on.
  6. From what I understand there isnt' one, but Psychopath sounded too close to Psycho, so they renamed it to Sociopath because it's technically a sociological disorder. This may be the one and only PC thing I've ever heard that I actually liked. I'm not a Sociopath, I'm fine being alone and all that, but I also like having friends over, would love to hang out with people randomly too.
  7. I've got half a tank in the car and since it's a Corolla I won't have to tank up again for another week or so, that said, no clue what the gas prices are at. I don't really mind the price raise though, I only have a 10 gallon tank.
  8. I just went and watched Batman again and I have to say that even the second time around it was still very powerful. The first time I saw it as an action movie I had been anticipating, this time I saw it from a social psychology perspective. If you think of it that way the entire movie is significantly better. Also, I got a bit emotional at the end during Gordon's monologue about the Dark Knight, I even almost cried. Such sacrifice he gives, so powerful.
  9. Plain and simple. Unless you search for a product online, don't give anyone your bank information. If someone says they have something for you that you didn't order, it's a scam. There are hundreds of tips on how to prevent identity theft and fraud, but plain and simple if you don't ask for it, don't accept it.
  10. Jack Nicholson was a great bad guy, but Heath Ledger was a great monster. You really get the impression that he is the arch-nemesis of Batman in this movie where Jack was just an obstacle to overcome. I think the thing that really works well with Heath is that he really got into the character of Joker (which was why he was on the anti-depressants supposedly), all of the little quirks and nuances of the Joker were included in Heath's performance to the point that while I could see Heath from time to time I just couldn't put the guy on that screen with the guy in Knights Tale or 10 Things, it just wasn't the same person. That said though, everyone knows that Caesar Romero is the best Joker ever.
  11. Worst thing about this is that so many people still think that Al Gore is full of it. Irena Sendler is a known hero and worker who actually put herself in serious danger and eventually paid for it with her capture and torture. All Al ever did was get Green Peace to be more obnoxious than normal.
  12. None of the spoilers I said above are true ;p I just like to give out fake spoilers so people will get upset... It's the Joker in me.
  13. If you think that's bad, you should probably know that Fox from the first movie is going to turn into Mr. Freeze, he gets chryogenically frozen at the end and dies XD ((not true))
  14. I went to the midnight showing of Batman on Thursday/Friday, so I'm one of the lucky nerds who got to try to spoil it for others (I came out of the movie at the end saying "Wow! I can't believe that The Joker was Bruce Wayne's Father!") Anyways, I've seen a lot of movies, probably best if I don't comment on all of them but Ido have this to say. The Joker is quite possibly one of the most horrifying villains I have ever seen. I am putting him just above Hannibal Lector. Those of you who know about the Joker and Batman's chemistry will totally understand what is going on with the two, but those of you who aren't big Batman fans, the Joker may seriously disturb you. The Joker is in love with Social Psychology, he's the kind of guy that will stand on a corner looking up at something that doesn't exist just to see if others will follow suit... of course he will do something with those people afterwards, but that's because he's a bad guy. I think that most of us should treat Dark Knight as though it were a rated R movie. If you aren't kosher with seeing stuff that would be in an R Rating, you probably don't want to see Dark Knight. There are a lot of morally strong moments in the movie, but with the Heath's monstrous performance it may be a bit too intense for many viewers.
