  1. I have two guns that say the police don't come and take my food storage away. Either that or they say that we're all dead before they take the food storage away.
  2. I agree with Misshalfway. Maybe nobody noticed that we eat bread and water on fast sundays. It's called the sacrament. This just goes to show that fast isn't about the food. if fasting was about not letting a speck our nourishment enter our stomachs then we wouldn't partake of te sacrament on Fast Sunday. But about the gum. I personally don't simply because I cant chew it and feel like I'm fasting. If I chew gum during fasting it doesn't let me become more spiritually minded than if I didn't chew it.
  3. Growing up we never prayed in restaurants. It's just seems weird to pray in restaurants. Being married we don't eat out much. Sometimes we do sometimes we don't pray in restaurants
  4. in the Philippines we wore white short sleeve shirt, tie, and suit pants. No suit jacket for us! Actually I heard they almost let us wear the Barong which is a dress shirt in the Filipino culture. If we would have been allowed to wear that we wouldn't have had to wear a tie either.
  5. Well I hope you have an enjoyable experience. There's always room for one more. White shirt and tie.
  6. It will be weird to not have to wear glasses. I'm not sure it would be that comfortable to give them up.
  7. From an LDS perpective those ordinances you have done were not done with the proper priesthood autority. As a result they would not be binding eternally. However. I'm not Christ and I am in no position to say for sure where you will go. If you did go to Spirit Prison then to get out you would need someone to do the ordinances through the proper priesthood authority(or what we like to call, "the right way," I'm just kidding.). But even after that you would still have to accept it. Personally I believe a person would leave the Spirit Prison as soon as they accept it. They don't have to wait for the resurrection. Well only the tribe of Levi had the priesthood for a while. The priesthood has always been restricted to a certain group. Even with your views the priesthood is restricted to believers.
  8. The opening post doesn't make any sense to me. We're permitted to travel to other planets and be rulers? I don't even know what a stansa servant is. I would like to believe that someday we will develope faster than light travel and go to another planet. I doubt we would become leaders of those planets though. I do believe that any inhabitants of other planets would look like us because they would be Children of God. But they would probably have their own unique animal life.
  9. Hehehe. thanks for that wingnut. I didn't mean this thread as a political correctness thread though. I meant it more as a 'Christmas shouldn't exclusivly be a Christian Holiday' thread. It can be a Jewish/Atheist/Muslim/Etc. holiday, can't it? There's enough of Christmas that a person could celebrate it without celebrating Christ, couldn't they? Anyway, I'm glad I didn't disappoint. Hehehe
  10. I'm get really annoyed with people trying to make Christ an offensive term. Such as the huge thing a few years about Walmart or something saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. Also in schools they call it Winter break instead of Christmas Break. People seem so concerned about not mentioning Christmas because it might be offensive. My question is, isn't there so much Christmas that a person of any religion can celebrate it? WE all know the same old story about early Christanity adapting the pagan holidays, yada yada yada. But why can't a Jew celebrate Christmas? Can't they just exclude the Christ parts and have Santa, Christmas trees, Presents, etc. I dunno but it seems to me that it would be so easy to sidestep the Christ part that anyone can celbrate it. And if it is a holiday that is applicable to everyone then why should anyone get offended when mentioning Christmas. What do you all think? Disclaimer: I'm not saying we should take Christ out of Christmas. I'm just saying that for those who don't believe in Christ why can't the celebrate Christmas without it being about Christ. Can't they have Christmas be about Santa or something?
  11. I wouldn't be offended. It might e alittle uncomfortable at the begining, but isn't that the point? Put the viewers out of their comfort zone so the conclusion and resolution of the story is even better.
  12. I dont know why anyone would want to deny themselves the blessings. Especially if they are financially poor.
  13. Well considering there are two Zions. The Spiritual Zion and the Physical Zion. Spiritual Zion should exist in our homes, wards, etc. For most people they feel some sence of peace and love within their homes and wards. Physical Zion will be in Jackson County, Missouri. With most people not involved much with the building of churches and temples anymore, most people just wait for the church to do it.
  14. Well the current form of the Nation of Deseret does not have any taxes. We collect money through donations.
  15. Maybe they missed this part of the Constitution: Article 1, Section 8: To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions Homeland defense is the Militia's responsibility. Of course when was the last time Bush read the Constitution?
  16. Too bad it's not only the media calling us kooks but all the other sheeple that are being lead into the slaughter house.
  17. They obviously use some technique to rationalize it. And everybody said, "Oh no that will never happen." Guess what it did! And we called it years ago! Told yah so!
  18. The NoD already has land claimed. It includes Idaho, Utah, Eastern part of Nevada, A few southern counties of California, Arizona, western part of New Mexico, western part of Colorado, and the western part of Wyoming. The acqisition of this land would be accomplished through citizenship, dual control, and dominant control. Citizenship means that anyone who becomes a citizen would allow their land to be claimed as part of the NoD. Dual Control means that we would set up a parrallel system of control to the US one. For example a NoD version of the BLM would be set up. Dominant Control means that when the NoD becomes accepted as the legitimate government of the territory then we would be accepted as legal authority of the claimed land. These would probably happen in the order listed. Each has it's own problems and benefits. Well statehood is also open to any place wishing to become a state. So if a population wishes to gain statehood they may. But if a individual or family wishes to gain citizenship then they may. If the NoD has control over it's territory then they may immirgate through NoD channels. They also have the choice to stay where they are. Whatever laws woud be enacted by the NoD. Of course the NoD may not enact any laws that contradict it's Constitution. Also the goal of the NoD currently is not to enact laws but to gain recognition. There's no point in making up a bunch of laws if they don't help anybody. They would be expected to follow te laws of the dominant nation. It depends on what state the NoD is in. If they declare war on us right now they're wasting their time. If they declare war on us when we actually are making progress, then it just proves how anti-freedom the United States has become. If we are full nation and they declare war on us then all peaceable means would be used to resolve the situation. If that methood fails. I would imagine that the people through elected representatives would be asked their input. Keep in mind that the NoD will not force it's laws on anyone who doesn't want it. Only those who want to be a citizen will be. In this way the NoD will be elected by the people. If the USA declares war on the NoD then they do not care about the freedom and sovreignity of it's citizens. You are correct there is very little infrastructure up right now. It is one of the things that will naturally grow as the NoD progresses. No I don't feel like you are picking on it. These are very valid concerns. I hope I was able to give you some helpful answers.
  19. We allow citizen to retain their American(or whatever their current citizenship). The legal definition of treason in the US Constitution is: Section 3 - Treason Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court. The Nation of Deseret is not an enemy to the United States. It is our goal to maintain peaceful and friendly relations with the United States of America. Now if we told everyone to hoard their guns and ammo and move to a small compound in the Maontains, then you should probably worry. :)
  20. Well from the meetings I've been in on. A new constitution would be put in place. It would be more strutrually similiar to the US Consitution. Council of Fifty would take on a legislative only role in a tricameral legislature. The Standing Chairman would no longer be the leader of the Nation of Deseret. This was brought up because of concerns that the Nation of Deseret would be seen as a religious entity. Another concern is that the current Council of Fifty and Natino of Deseret could potentially draw negative attention to the Church. Nothing is set yet. But from the meetings I've been invited to it looks like a real possibility.
  21. I'd like to think it took place in North and South America.
  22. Well sorry I;'ve been abesnt from the thread. We've gotten a little off topic. I've been busy with making updates for the website. Also there's been talk of reorganizing the NoD.
  23. I would lik eto get involved in blogging but. I can't really stand writing huge articles. I prefer doing artwork.
