  1. I know what that is but what does it have to do with clothing?
  2. Sorry, but I will never say anything against a proper miniskirt. I know what butt cracks are but what the heck are "whale tails"?!?!
  3. I think the God has a plan for each of us individually. Perhaps He knows that "Bill" would have a harder time coming close to Him as a Mormon. So if "Bill" Prays about the Book of Mormon the God would not give him a witness of it's truthfullness. But since God knows "Bill" better than he knows himself God would know that Bill can come closer to Him as a Muslim. So when "Bill" learns about the Quran and prays about it God confirms to him that the Quran is true. Does that mean the Book of Mormon is not true? No. It just means that for "Bill", Islam is a better path. Ephesians 4:11-13 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: God didn't give everybody the same thing. He knows we are different and so he gave some things unto some people. And it is this way for the perfecting of the saints, work of the ministry, and edifying of teh body of Christ. And it will be this way until the times comes that there s a unity of faith and unity of a knowledge of the Son of God. So while God may lead people to different paths right now. There will come a time when we are all united together. God will lead the different paths together. So for me it is not so much what we know, but rather what we do with what we know. We find a similiar line of thinking in the parable of the talents.
  4. What? You don't make hot chocolate with water?! That's how I've always done it. Although my brother will sometimes make hot chocolate from milk and hershey's chocolate syrup.
  5. THat's liek saying does 1+1 = 2? Or does 2 = 1+1? It's the same thing.
  6. I'm not sure. But I think the woman was sealed to the husband just like in normalmarriage. Only the Husband could do the same with more than one woman. I doubt the women were sealed together. It was probably don in the temple too. Don't quote me on that it's just my guess.
  7. Sealings are like a link in a chain. They bind you to another person. A Child is sealed(linked) to their parents. A Husband and wife aresealed(linked) together. It's not really anything more than that. Everyone must be linked back through the generations to Adam and then to Heavenly Father. There actually have been cases of women being sealed tomore than one husband but it is VERY rare. Generally I look at it this way. It's like a business. There can only be one President of the company. But there can be many Vice Presidents. You may think my comparing women to vice-presidents is demeaning but it's not. It is simply different roles. In a business the fact someone is a Vice-President doesn't mean they are less of a person than the president. A President and Vice-President have equal value as human beings. They just have different roles within the organization. A person must be sealed/married to their spouse in this life. People will not be able to be married after the Final Judgement. But there will be one thousand years after the second coming to get tons of sealings done. And those in the Spirit World can only be sealed through proxy.
  8. I think the Holy Ghost is a child of our Heavenly Father. But an interesting point is that Since Heavenly Father's work will never end there will always be worlds in some stage of progression that need the Holy Ghost. So the Holy Ghost will NEVER be able to get a body.
  9. I too notiecd the simliarities between Demotic and Reformed Egyptian. Not necessarily the symbols but the style of writing. Aso the timeline of when Demotic was in use and the time the Lehites left Jerusalem matches. The biggest problem with trying to figure out reformed egytian is that Refromed Egytian was a made up language. The Lehites made up their own language to keep their records in. So unles you are a Nephite prophet who keeps that sacred records you're probably going to have a hard time reading it. I've been studying the Caractors and locating repetative symbols within the document. It would be cool if the Caractors document could finally be deciphered.
  10. There will be at least for some. Many people have been married to another woman after the first wife died. Why would it not be happiness if women have to share a spouse. I'll finish tomorrow. I have take care of the baby. Thanks for your help. If you have any sources from apostles or prophets that would help a lot too.
  11. Well I think God does dwell intemples but He doesn't dwell in temples. God lives in Heaven, but He does visit temples. Temples aren't His home, Heaven is.
  12. Is that really a problem though? We're not all identical people. Perhaps God knows that Islam would be better(for right now) for some people than the LDS church. Maybe a person in the Cathloic church can come closer to God in that religion than in any other. Would God force someone into a religion that lessens their ability to come close to Him. After all the amount of truth we recieve isn't what we are judged on. What we are judged on is what we do with the truth we have.
  13. I think you're all just trying to nitpick at my post. you know what I mean. The natural man desires sex, without consequence. Some people's bodies desire sex with the same gender. The natural man desires to eat more than is needful. The natural man is vengful and angers easily. I never said physical things are bad. I said that impulses and physical desires and needs come naturally with a physical body. If left uncontrolled and untempered these desires an impulses lead us away from God. But if we control them and use them properly as God has shown us, then it is a glorious thing. I'm pretty sure you all knew this already, there was no point in nitpicking my post so I have to type a long explaination of what I mean. Let's keep things simple. martybess: Yes, the whole point of this earth is just that to gain a body. Everything else is just an extantion of that. Adam and Eve get bodies. They fall. So now we need a Saviour. The rest of us get bodies but because our bodies are imperfect and our control over them is imperfect we must learn to control them. Because of our imperfection we do things that make us unworthy to return to God. Again the need for a Saviour. God gives us commandments to show us the way to control ourselves and livein a way that will allow us to be worthy to return to Him. EVERYTHING is an extention of our purpose of gaining physical bodies. And this was all planned out before we came here. It's called the Plan of Salvation.
  14. We must learn to control the impulses of our Physical bodies. Because the impulses and desires of the flesh are not in line with God's will. We must overcome them to be able to return to our Heavenly Father. The way to do this is tofollow the commandments that God has given us.
  15. All you need is a bit more understanding of the Plan of Salvation. After people die thier spirits go to a place called the Spirit World. All Spirits go here and stay there until either the First Resurrection or the Second Resurrection. The Final Judgement does not occur until after the resurections. And no one goes to the Celestial Kingdom, Terrestrial Kingdom, Telestial Kingdom, or Outer Darkness until after the Final Judgement. The Spirit World is divided into two parts one is Paradise and the other is Prison. Now remember no Spirit can leave the Spirit World until the ressurections*. But spirits can move between Prison and Paradise. Righteous Spirits in Paradise preach the Gospel to Spirits in Prison. A Spirit in Prison cannot go into Paradise unless they are baptised. So if a Spirit in Prison accepts the gospel and wants to go into Paradise is unable to until they have been baptised. But Spirits are not physical so they cannot be baptised by water. So people with physical bodies must be baptized on their behalf. Thus baptisms for the dead. If a baptism has been performed for someone who is dead. Then that person(as a Spirit) can accept or reject it. If they have accepted the gospel then they probably will accept it. They can then enter into Paradise. If they reject it then they must stay in Prison. Now what is the significance of Paradise and Prison. Only those people in Paradise qualify to enter the Celestial Kingdom. If you are in Prison you can't enter into the Celetsial Kingdom. The Celestial Kingdom is where God resides and if we wish to return to Him we must go there. Everyone else will go to either the Terrestial Kingdom, Telestial Kingdom, or Outer Darkness. *Some spirits of the righteous may come to our world on specific missions. Notes: The Terrestrial Kingdom is for people who were righteous and good people but they did not accept the Gospel. The Telestial Kingdom is for everyone else excluding Sons of Perdition. Outer Darkness is where Satan and his angels reside. This is also where Sons of Perdition go. Just general wicked people will not go to Outer Darkness. Even Hitler won't go to Outer Darkness. For a person to go to Outer Darkness they must, as I said, be a Son of Perdition. For a person to be a Son of Perdition they must have a special witness of Christ and then deny that witness and work against Christ. For example Cain. Cain had a special witness of Christ but he later denied that and followed Satan. If Joseph Smith had rejected Christ after seeing Him and followed Satan he would have been a Son of Perdition. It is generally said the a person must work to go to Outer Darkness and only a handful of people are ever in a position(such as Church leaders) to be able to fall and become Sons of Perdition. Hopefully that will clear some things up. If you have any more questions just ask.
  16. That was awesome. I actually laughed out loud.
  17. Technically it is still an accepted practice. As I'm sure you know, if a man's wife dies he can get sealed to another woman. Only marriage to more than one living spouse is unaccepted. Personally I think there should be more discussion about polygamy. To many people's hearts are closed to the practice and view it as wrong. I believe the practice will be restored again either before the Second coming or after it. We're(meaning the LDS Church) going to have a heck of a time trying to reinstitute something people hate. We are doing a disservice to people by not talking about it.
  18. Actually, when I first saw this thread I thought it was asking, "How do you get kids fast." Maybe the polygamy thread was just on my mind. Hahaha.
  19. So you don't believe that desiring polygamy is a sin. Or are you saying that you will never accept polygamy. If so, why?
  20. What my parents did with us is that once we were eight and baptized we would fast for only one meal. Then after we were twelve we wee expected to fast the full length like everyone else. So there was sort of a preperatory period.
  21. I've pondered the same thing. I would be ok with it if my wife had more than one husband. It would be hard sometimes but I could do it. But I would much rather the other husband having his own place where they could go when it was their time. Just as if I had more than one wife, they would each have their own home/apartment. I think that would really help alleviate jelousy.
