  6. Welcome!!! Do you have friends in the church? or have you found out what ward you are going to?.. Build a close support system and study your scriptures everyday and everything will be ok
  7. Thanks everyone for your comments :-) It is reassureing to know that I wont be disfellowshiped.
  8. Hello, I was at YSA family home evening tonight and two of the brothers and I were talking about my car and he noticed an ashtray and a pack of smokes in my car and they asked me if I smoked. I replied "oh occasionally when i get really stressed out''. I was wondering.. Can i get disfellowshiped or loose alot of support in the church if I still smoke occasionally. I know i cant get a temple reccomend or anything right now. I am just worried i guess that I am going to loose the church in my life for a bad habit I have a hard time quitting. I dont drink Coffee or tea and only drink a drink or two here and there. Thank You
  9. ok thanx guys thats what I thought; I have been staying pretty faithful and obeying the commandments its just the morning thing. It seems like the YSA branch is significatly diffrent to me then the original ward i use to attend the people are still of course very loving and stuff i guess its kinda just werid because I'm new to the area and branch and it will probably set in once I start becomeing more active again.
  10. Hello, I am a relatively inactive member in my Young Singles branch but I always seem to be able to attend the sacrament portion of the meeting once or twice a month. Should I be partaking of sacrament? or should not be? I am trying to make an effort to get off at work and things on Sunday and trying to go to the full meetings its just tough with my current employer. Thanks
  11. That's a great message! :-D
  12. Interesting question! It had me thinking also. When my friends or someone asks me What faith I belong to? I always say "Im a Latter Day Saint" Usally afterwards there remark is "Is that a Chrisitan?" I reply "yes". So I think both LDS and Christian are the same in my view because I know that the Church is true and consider myself a Christian.
  13. I found the site to be a very helpful site. If someone had a specific question they couldnt find through the Ask a Question function they could always talk to a live missionary and I am sure they would most likely have the answer and point you in the right direction.
  14. I asked the same question in our priesthood meeting when we were discussing about the relativly small size of our branch. Everyone pretty much responded that it keeps conversations and helps everyone by relateing to our age. Like for example.. Problems that a 20 year old is going to be much different then someone who is 50. And I also thinks it makes it much easier to bond with our other members because I find it easier to talk to someone my own age then talking to older members many of the times.
  15. Thank You JHM-in-Bountiful I really appreciate the information you gave me :-) I am going this Sunday. Is it ok to just go or should i phone ahead? Should I partake of sacrament and who should I talk to. I know I am in the 2nd Ward with Bishop Scrubb (according to member records). Thank You so much, Andrew
  16. Hello, My name is Andrew. I just moved to Rapid City, SD. I was baptized 4 years ago. Lots of moving around occured (Miltiary Brat). I am the only one in my family of LDS faith. I have lost contact with the church roughly 2 years ago and am trying to get back in contact with them here in Rapid City. I haven't lost faith just I got mixed up with all the moving around. I called Member Records and updated my address and things I am just not sure where to go from there... Im a bit nervous sense i have not been able to attend church regularly for 2 years now. Any suggestions or advice would be helpful. Thank You :-) andrew
