  1. Welcome Sissi and Hello from Idaho! LDS FAM 4 EVER
  2. Well, I don't think they're lying to you, perhaps they had a prayer (Wish) in their heart and were able to receive personal revelation in the temple and/or receive the blessings... of shooting a huge elk and your sister to be liked by everyone. God grants people the wishes of their hearts when they are righteous and obedient to His commandments.
  3. Hello HEllo from Idaho~ I too was born into the church and love the restored gospel! I served a mission in Sacramento, California.
  4. Welcome Vinnie ~ That is great you were recently baptized! The church has the fullness of Christ's gospel and the peace is felt everywhere the church is around the globe. I have traveled all over the United States and the peace is the same at each church house and temple I enter. :) Please add me as your friend.
  5. I believe the counsel is wise and the Brethren (General Authorities) want us to participate in activities that are uplifting and engage one to come unto Christ. Most R-rated movies have selfish, violent, or sexual references which are all degrading to one's spiritual progression. Because we are spiritual beings here having a human experience I believe that many will succumb to the natural man when it comes to movie ratings...and ignore the counsel or override it with their own thinking...because it is easy to say it won't hurt me. I personally do not watch them. I believe that the spirit can direct one's decisions in watching or not watching but they must be listening...! :)
  6. nope, that is probably just a story they told you_perhaps because things discussed in the temple are sacred.
  7. Hello Hello from Idaho~ Add me as a friend if you wish!
  8. Temples are considered the House of the Lord and differ from our regular church meeting houses for Sunday worship. They are sacred and Holy and dedicated to God by a living Prophet or Apostle. This dedication is to help keep the temple structure and its grounds safe and free from evil influences in the world. The primary purpose for LDS temples are to strengthen one's faith in Jesus Christ by participating in saving ordinances and making sacred covenants with God. These ordinances and covenants made in the temple are not secret, but are sacred and therefore only Latter-day Saints in good standing with church guidelines are permitted to enter. My faith is strengthened each time I see a beautiful temple. The glory and majesty of the building reminds me of Jesus Christ and is symbolic of Him being the way, the truth, and the life of the world. Please stop by to learn more about temples on my personal blog... LDS FAM 4 EVER In basic terms, we learn where we came from, why we're here, and where we're going after this life and therefore as we progress we can learn more about our Heavenly Father's plan in the temple.
  9. Hello from the potato state and thank you for stopping by... My name is Christopher Poulsen. I served an LDS Hmong speaking mission in Sacramento, California from 2001-2003. I am committed to live my religion of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my days upon the Earth and to share my testimony of it with as many people as I can. I love Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ and know we are all brothers and sisters. I will strive daily to live and lead my life by example to those around me. I realize this is not an easy task, therefore I am using this technology to help me strengthen my own faith and to keep me accountable to that which I live for each day---the Restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
