  1. I'm more concerned that Eckhart Tolle's book is on the shelf, then a tasteful fictional novel.
  2. Or that horrible sea-shell thingy would be there.
  3. "Everybody has a price"? You obviously have not met a faithful member of the Temple Lot church. :) I would be curious if you believe that ("everybody has a price") in regards to the leadership of the LDS church?
  4. There are rumors swirling that the LDS church has assisted the Community of Christ (formerly the RLDS church) in the past. The Church of Christ (Temple Lot) is a completely different organization from the Community of Christ/RLDS church, and owe no money to the LDS church (and I highly doubt would accept money either.)
  5. The obvious idea of this thread was the possibility of the New Jerusalem Temple. There is only one problem: The Church of Christ (Temple Lot) own the land for the New Jerusalem Temple and they will not give it up as long as there is a member of their church alive.
  6. I am thoroughly disgusted and done with this topic.
  7. For me atheism and socialism go hand and hand. How in any language is wishing death on someone a joke? Humor is essentially about the finer facets of irony, there is nothing ironic about "I wish so and so would get a horrible disease and die." Edit: Again... if you can't see the difference between finding humor in a self-righteous prig get punched in his nose and wishing for someone to die, it is more your problem then mine.
  8. She wished Rush would get kidney disease and die; It wasn't a joke. And the thought of a socialist college prof get puched in the nose does amuse me, but I don't wish death on them. There is a difference, but if you can't see that, it's more your problem then mine.
  9. I hope a rabid dog rips out Wanda Syke's vocal box so she can never speak again... Oh my gosh I kill me, I am so darn funny
  10. Good post. I can not speak of any special experience that led me to know the Book of Mormon is true; I have always just known since my family was introduced to it. It is called the "gift of Knowledge".
  11. I have to throw in with the rest... I really want to read your site, but the format size makes it difficult. See if you can do something.
  12. I hope that it is true!
  13. Um, not to intrude, but there is a difference be "beating" or "whipping" or laying a "hand of anger" on your children and disciplined, in-control, swat on the tush followed by an overflowing of love. In what he is saying, he is correct, but applying it to ANY physical punishment is, in my opinion, incorrect... and I'm not entirely sure the intent of his words. If it is this will be one of those instances where I will take church leaders words as their opinions.
  14. Following the manner Joseph Smith taught baptism for the dead, you are the one who should've done the work for you own grandparents and uncle. Seeing as how this cousin was probably descended from your great-grandparents he was within his rights to perform the works for them.
  15. Is the story false? If you have evidence it is, please share.
  16. Source? I believe you are repeating an unfounded rumor.
  17. You are reading quite a bit into D&C 89 that is not there.
  18. You obviously have been studying this for a while and have invested much of your energy in the subject. You seem to have made up your mind, so go with it... Go and do what you like, and be content in your decision. But I don't see the purpose in you coming to argue this with believing folks, if not to try to change peoples views.
  19. Herbal Teas are perfectly acceptable, in fact good for you (try to use honey instead of sugar, if using a sweetener) The reason some LDS avoid certain colas is because of caffeine, not carbonation. But carbonation is not good for you anyways, it breaks down calcium and can lead to various weak bone conditions.
  20. I am more interested in your name then your question. Why have you given yourself the names of two Sumerian gods?
  21. So I guess I will ask the question this has raised for me and look for responses tonight after work... The Church teaches us that for some reason the Lord cursed Ham and his descendants from having the Priesthood until 1978.... If Joseph's wife was and descendant of Ham, as indicated by her father's name, would that not disqualify the descendants of Ephraim and Mannaseh from holding the Priesthood until 1978... If Mannaseh could not hold the Priesthood what are the descendants of Lehi doing excersing it... If Ephraim could not hold it, most early church leaders could not have held it, including Joseph Smith, as it is fairly clear those who's lineage is from Britain (Covenant Man) are literally from Ephraim...
  22. People that believe that government should control all aspects of our lives and steal money from hardworking people to pay for those who are not, don't understand why this country was founded either.
  23. Obama is opening Cuba up for travel. If you like socialism so much move to that tropical socialist utopia. (Edit: Going against my normally conservative opinions, opening up Cuba is probably the first thing I agree with Obama about)
  24. Wha...???? What is in the drinking water in your town? She is paranoid it might impede her chances of going on a mission? Uh yeah, adultery will generally do that.
