  1. I can't wait til October, so I can see what is offered in my state. One of the goals of the affordable care act is that you won't have to pay more than 9% of your pay in premiums and I pay a lot more than that. Yes, I read most of it
  2. my husband was Catholic before he converted, it makes for very good conversations. welcome back
  3. I'm guilty of staying with my toddler, she just wouldn't stop crying when my husband or I would leave. We're talking crying for 30+ minutes. But one day the teacher sent out a letter stating, in very nice words with very cute pictures and font, that if there were any problems they would take the child to the parents. This might work in your case. In ours, my husband and I said "Challenge accepted" (and then the 30 minute crying session happened, we took Gwendolyn with us for the next few months to our classes, then sent her to the nursery with her older sister for another few months until they both were ready to go to their classes by themselves :) ). But talking when you're trying to conduct a class is really unfair. I'd try the letter route
  4. is simply wonderful. All the songs from the Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey are great, also. I love this one:
  5. Trying to use a public restroom with a toddler in tow def counts as a disability.
  6. Pam, we need a {Headache} button.
  7. I can just see my husband buried in his temple clothes and his katanas...this is one zombie that will be well-armed
  8. Buy a silver picture frame, wrap it in pretty wrapping paper with a card to the happy couple, and continue to be a good example of righteous living
  9. We do 20% (easy math), and when our toddler leaves a big mess under the table we leave a standard $10 for the sweeping. Servers, no matter how much they get in tips, work very hard at the restaurants we frequent.
  10. Police arrest man after fight over seat saving at LDS church | FOX13Now.com It was only a matter of time.
  11. The main difference with the classic 'Utah Mormon', as opposed to, say, the classic 'Idaho Mormon', is that Utah Mormons tend to drive I-84 like it's the Indy 500 and us locals are still pushing/pulling handcarts. But this might be an unfair generalization
  12. Strollers didn't count, thank heavens, when we flew with Delta. I made sure to have baby nursing during takeoff and landings. She even slept through the first flight :) I hope you're that lucky. Another thing I brought along was a babysling. Believe me, after a few hours it was very nice to not have to hold my baby with my arms lol.
  13. Nurse in the chapel. I will bet (if I did bet) that you would get a good chair within the month
  14. Brilliant. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. I am so totally stealing your sentence. I will give you credit for it, though!
  15. TBH I'm much more concerned with what happened with the Voting Act of 1965 and how amazingly fast...almost as if by magic...some states were to enact changes to their voting regulations. If I were suspicious, I'd say the DOMA and Prop 8 rulings were to give the other ruling cover, because it sure dropped out of the media feeds like a boulder in the ocean. Here, gay people, have a marriage. Just don't plan on unencumbered voting if you live in these districts lol
  16. It sounds like a great plan to me! I wish I could go help you, but we're going to Yellowstone this year
  17. Sounds like a bloodbath! I hope you find a better job soon.
  18. It's always tacky to ask for gifts (including money) in an invitation. The expectation is that your presence is enough, a gift (money or other) is simply icing on the cake. That being said, it is the job of family/friends to tell people, who ask, what the happy couple really needs. Otherwise it's merely a solicitation. I know, I know, it's becoming common. But lots of things are common that really are not good manners :)
  19. People in gov't have gotten lazy! Seriously, how much effort does it take to get warrants? Oh yeah, evidence. Wimps.
  20. It's spring, why not have your meetings in the yard or at a park?
  21. A lot of us knew it would be used like this. I think it was one of the few times the Tea Party and my fellow Really Liberal Liberals were in agreement
  22. Every time I read quotes from Pres. Benson's early days (before he became a prophet) I have to wonder if this was something he was called out for, or not.
  23. Morgan Freeman would be awesome. But I don't see him wearing a fez with quite the same panache. Oh oh Ricky Gervais!!! Wouldn't he be great?
