I'm going back to your original comment.
The difference is, the church doesn't have teenagers and young adults leaving the church in droves because they are pedophiles, polygamists, abortionists or smokers.
And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples
I guess you can choose the sin, or decide if having dinner is "hanging out" but he certainly didn't shun them.
It comes from a crisis within the church. Gay members are leaving. And it's pretty clear the church is making efforts to not shun them, and to keep them active and involved. At least that's the message I am reading from all of the church's activities of the last few years.
You know what I think? I think the sin of abandoning your children is a greater sin, and I believe the church thinks so too, particularly those who's children were born in the covenant. And that is the crisis that is facing the church right now.
You're claiming he didn't know? I bet he gave a directive for it to happen. Next you'll be telling me he didn't authorize the gayandmormon.com website.
No, society has. The church still condemns premarital and extramarital sex, but they don't exclude people from involvement with the choir because of it.
