Actually, I think you might be able to call the Humane Society - their rules require that shelter be available at all times, and they can remove animals if the conditions aren't appropriate.

Danna and Khuxley, if you go to LDS.ORG, Gospel Library, Media Formats, then scroll down to Files for Handheld Devices, then click on Mobipocket under the Palm column, you can get the teacher's guides and much other material. They haven't yet issued the Scriptures in the new format; there is an archive of Palm material, but I don't think it's Kindle compatible. edit - I tried to paste the URL from the church website, and it didn't appear - this one may work: Archive

Rityjo, I too have a Kindle, and I have downloaded the resources available from LDS.org (teacher's manuals, etc.), but you indicated that you found the scriptures for free. Where did you find them? I've only found versions which require payment.
