  1. I am a new cub scout assistant:wow:!!! They are going to let me teach karate a little!
  2. I asked someone who said the taste description was pretty accurate.
  3. Sorry I am with Bytor...the beach is the one place I am okay with a man being without a shirt...and I would object to a shirtless Obama or anyone else on this forum as it is not a beach although I do not think I would be ok with beach pics on the forum unless people are modest. What about certain sports? Before I was LDS I ran track in high school and on really hot days we were required to wear the tank top and short shorts with no spandex under the shorts (my preference) and no t-shirt under the shirt. Maybe if I had been LDS he would have allowed it but my coach saw it as a safety issue.
  4. I have read some of this but would like to read more...I have read and really like the Tao Te Ching. I like its message about humility, non-conformity, and "work."
  5. wow...you got me on an internet search for swords and weapons...fun. ...notice thumb sticking out for non-satanic rock on...with forefinger and pinky down it goes from devil horns to tatonka...
  6. Sorry Vort I can't get over your avatar...it is priceless, thanks.
  7. Thanks, much much appreciated, very pretty.
  8. Wow, you make and use weapons...impressive. *And* they are functional. Yeah, I'd say real. I don't really want to fight, for me it is almost like a dance/culture class although I am curious how I would stand up in a fight I just don't want to hurt anyone lol. The only weapons I use anymore are my sais even though I have a collection of some pretty swords and many knives between husband and me...people ask what they are for when we buy them... I say "to look at!" ...although at the street festival where we bought a beautiful set of 3 swords (long medium short) Joe told the police man he would be willing to help with crowd control...we all knew it was a joke but he likes to tweak *everyone*!!!
  9. ...it isn't out there is it?
  10. Christmas?:) I hope people don't mind the reviving of old threads, some places like it others take it as "oh yeah, I forgot to delete that" I started out as the third teacher of one lovely young woman, then taught the 6 year olds, then primary choruster, relief society choruster, RS teacher, back to primary, then nursery, now back to Primary with one 11 year old with Angelman's syndrome...anyone heard of that? It's rare. This lovely girl is profoundly mentally retarded and nonverbal, has mobility problems. She can walk but is...clumsy? and needs to be in her wheelchair mostly because she likes to wander. An interesting aspect of this disorder is that she is or appears to be happy almost always. She often laughs and smiles and makes loud vocalizations, which merit a walk that is welcome for her. Itis a blessing to be with her and it will be better because now I will be more of a teacher than a babysitter by showing her gospel related pictures and explaining them. I can never know how much she does or does not understand, it can be surprisingly much or surprisingly little depending among other things on her interest. My point after all this hijacking rambling is that RS teacher was my favorite calling and I miss it. I would also love to teach the young women. The only caveat with feedback is that sometimes the long winded people need to be encouraged to tone it down a bit (like me) and others need encouragement to speak up...if this is still relevant.
  11. Actually Egalma's right. It can be fun to...well, have fun. And yes, prayer, preparation, and asking for lots of input are great ideas. Relief Society teacher was my favorite calling and although I love teaching in Primary I do miss the "grown-up" classes.
  12. Thanks, I could have used her for my gown, even though I was not temple ready at the time.
  13. No really, Aikido is cool and we learn some...it works even on double jointed people like me!
