Gosh, it’s been awhile! You have another new name for the group! 😁
Can I get some updates to what’s been happening lately? Also, I’m here because I need some prayers if that’s allowed? 🤷‍♀️
    Here goes..
Hi Guys, without going into depth, I’m going on many weeks of health issues and feel like am not improving. I’m not looking any personal attention, or friends and family to panic, and so I’m not saying anything to people who really “know me”. I’m quite private really, but if you have a minute to say a quick prayer 🙏 I’d appreciate it. I believe just a few faithful prayers will make a difference. Thank you.

I have to say that homesickness is something I have never really experienced and can't relate with. Twice a year phone calls were sufficient and I wouldn't want to trade in my experience sending and receiving letters while I was out there. I would think that this might actually increase homesickness by keeping missionaries more connected to home and less to the work, not that the two need to be mutually exclusive, I just recall missionaries getting a lot more trunky after Christmas and Mother's Day phone calls. Instead of talking about investigators needs and setting up appointments with ward mission leaders the conversations would drift into where they plan to go to school and their mom's apple pie for Sunday dinner what they plan to do with their car when they get home (the one mommy and daddy were buying them for making it two years - gag)
I'm not saying it's a bad change, and I support the church leaders on it, but I'm glad it wasn't how things were done on my mission.

StrawberryFields reacted to Vort in Donald Trump does NOT vilify President Monson in Obituary
Donald J. Trump, Blowhard-in-Chief, is gracious and sympathetic. The New York Times, the self-proclaimed voice of tolerance and reason, is petty and vindictive.
This does not accord with the narrative being presented. I'm so confused.

    White House Statements & Releases
Statement from President Donald J. Trump Regarding the Passing of Thomas S. Monson, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
    Issued on: January 3, 2018
Melania and I are deeply saddened by the death of Thomas S. Monson, a beloved President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  While serving for over half a century in the leadership of his church, President Monson demonstrated wisdom, inspired leadership, and great compassion.  Considered a prophet by the nearly 16 million members of the LDS Church, his message was one of optimism, forgiveness, and faith.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his three children and the rest of the Monson family.

My nature I am the most happy when I’m being productive. I’m not even marginally productive right now. Yes, this too shall pass but hopefully not like a kidney stone! 🤣

    Hi StrawberryFields forever!
I just got over being sick for most of December and January. It’s no fun.  I just kept on thinking, this too will pass.
Big hugs to you and hope you feel better soon.  I’ll have you and your doctors in my prayers.

    @NeuroTypical thank you! I’m a Beatles Fan. 😊
Have you always had the same screen name? I joined eons ago (2003).
My health issue is a little less than a month old and I’m under doctors care, but still sick and it’s getting to me. Today was my breaking point I guess.

Hi SF - I remember you!  Welcome back, sorry  you're struggling.
Do I remember correctly that your screen name alludes to one of the things with which you struggle?  (If this doesn't sound familiar, I'm thinking of someone else.  But if it does, no need to go into more detail.)

StrawberryFields reacted to Pale Queen in Emotional Affair with a Bishop
If she's having an emotional affair, she's definitely not going to call it that. She'll downplay the relationship so that she doesn't get in trouble (just an "emotional bond" whatever that is). It's important to look at her actions.
Pieces from this article on http://www.dearpeggy.com/emotional.html
    It's an emotional affair if…
--I'm keeping the details of my relationship secret from my spouse
--I'm saying and doing things with the other person I wouldn't do with my spouse present
--I'm sharing things with the other person that I don't share with my spouse
--I'm making an effort to arrange to spend time with the other person
Emotional affairs either end or they escalate.
It really doesn't matter whether someone thinks an emotional relationship is totally harmless. The fact is that in most instances emotional affairs are just affairs that have not YET become sexual. They either end or they escalate. So (as with any type affair), it's critical that all one-on-one contact with the third party be severed—before it escalates.
It's all about the secrecy and where they are directing their energy. This is not exclusive to affairs. If you find out your spouse is secretly drinking/smoking, secretly obtaining credit cards and maxing them out (huge debt), buying rich property in the Cayman Islands and hiding the profits, etc., it's a betrayal. If your spouse is putting all their energy into work, a hobby, etc. instead of being with you, it hurts.

Don't feel sorry for me.  I neglected her, she neglected me, the results were an ugly situation.  But a situation that can be turned around.
Honestly I don't really care if she ever apologizes.  I am happy and she is happy.  Life today if far better than it was 2 years ago.  I have completely recommitted to her.  I have learned a lot about relationships that I would have never learned had this not happened.  We all have challenges in life..  many we create ourselves, but it is how we deal with the challenges that make us who we are..  I feel I am a much better person today than I was 2 years ago.
Is it the kick in the pants that you should feel sorry for, or the fact that you needed to be kicked in the pants??

Hi Pam! Yep, it's me jumping to the defense of someone I don't know of. You'd think I would learn wouldn't you?  I was only thinking about what I was reading on this one discussion, and not on other (previous) ones. I understood the scriptures he posted, and honestly didn't see anything troubling about his posts on this subject.
Of course it was after only 2 hours of sleep, and upper body agony from helping push a stuck car out of snow ruts.  Maybe I should reread the pages of posts and see what I missed........ after I am able to get a decent night's sleep.

StrawberryFields reacted to MarginOfError in Things your not so righteous self wanted to do in church, but you did not
My problem with this thread is the not-so-righteous side of me usually wins out over the righteous side.
I had a beard right up until I was required to shave by my employer (for the next few years, I must be prepared to wear a respiratory mask). I only shave on days I go to work, though, so I'm always stubbly on Sunday.  And I don't care.
I've stopped wearing white shirts. period.  The very day I am released from working on the ward council, I will probably start wearing jeans and polo shirts to church. Mostly because I think somebody should be a little dressed down so that those who don't have the tie and slacks don't feel quite so out of place.
We are having a talent and interest night soon.  One of our members signed up to bring smoked meat.  I wrote down on the sheet "Brother Theta: Smoking"
My meeting agendas often have things like "Sister missionaries are now allowed to wear pants. No word yet on when elders may wear skirts."
About my only limit is I will not do something if I think there is even a small chance it will inhibit the ability for someone to have an uplifting experience during their worship. Other than that, anything is fair game.
