  1. Can't remember exactly where it was where I had heard this talk. I believe it was from a General Conference. Can't remember which Apostle had told it but it was a story of a father and son. The son was on his way home from college, BYU I believe. As the son was on the road, coming home for a break of some sort he had hit black ice, or an icy patch. The father got a prompting from the Holy Ghost to pray for his son. He did so but only for a short time and went back to his day. Sometime later he got another prompting. His prayer was not enough, you must "plead for your son's life". He did so and come to find out his son had gotten into a very serious accident, flipping his truck and in serious condition but lived due to his father praying for his son's life. Have been looking for this story for sometime now. Anyone have any ideas?
  2. I'd have to choose either between German or Japanese. [Japanese] Not because I'm an avid anime watcher but something about the language and culture just fascinates me. It is, however, EXTREMELY hard to learn. Through my couple years here and there of attempting to learn it I've only been able to pick up a few words. :3
  3. So I'm seriously thinking that my newlywed husband and I need to start our food storage. The only thing we are running into is the fact that we are very tight on money and we both currently live with my mother whom is a pack-rat and the only room we have is the bedroom we live in currently. Is there any advise (reading material, books or otherwise) that you could give me to start this and maintain it with such a small amount of space and funds to do so? Thanks a bunch!
  4. Congrats on your baptism! I was also just baptized on 3/27 and confirmed 3/28. Don't stress over your home teaching. Like everyone has said it's more about getting to know your new ward family and less of actually teaching anyone. They will usually pair you up with a senior home teacher too so you won't be alone. If you are in doubt of anything, whether it be exactly what a home teacher does or things you need to know don't hesitate to ask your ward family! Again, congrats on your wonderful choice and hold on because this is just the start of something beautiful!!
  5. Had my confirmation today! What a wonderful journey. My husband had to dunk me a couple times during the baptism because the jumpsuit I was wearing was too big and just kept floating. However after all was said and done the experience was amazing. It's hard to describe to a T exactly how I felt but I did feel extremely light after I got out of the font, almost like I could just float away. I also had a strong feeling of a huge weight being lifted off my shoulders. I was okay changing and drying off. I offered a personal prayer before I left the changing room and as soon as I saw my husband waiting for me in the hallway I hugged him tightly and the Spirit finally hit me, really hard. I nearly fell to my knees I was crying so hard. My father-in-law and close friends of the Church confirmed me today, which was also our Fast and Testimony meeting. The Spirit today was the strongest I had ever felt in my life. This journey has been hard, but I am extremely grateful for all those that have persevered with me and now I'm on my start to a new life!
  6. Finally got a hold on the lady yesterday and got the white jumpsuits. Haden't realized that my husband, who will be baptizing me, needed to have all white as well. Good thing I asked! I will post pictures and my experience with it after all is said and done. Tomorrow is the big day! I'm sooo excited! This has defiantly been a couple weeks of pure joy! First being married to my sweetheart and now baptism! LIFE IS GREAT!
  7. I'm days away from being baptized however the lady we needed to call to try on the clothing won't answer my phone calls and I'm afraid I won't have the proper clothing for the day. Is there specific clothing I must have to be baptized in? I know it is suppose to be all white but must it be pants? A jumpsuit? Skirt? I'm worried that I won't be ready. Any advise would be great. Thanks a bunch!
  8. To receive the Holy Ghost, but why do scriptures refer to it as Baptism by Fire. Is it symbolic more than anything? A question that's been in my head for a few days. If there has already been a thread on it I apologize in advance. Just point me in the right direction. Thanks!
  9. Hi everyone! Glad to be here. I'm new here, just searching around for some better LDS sites with chat rooms. I'm hoping to make some new friends from the church. I'm not yet baptized but I'm working towards it! I'm in Federal Way, WA from the Friendly Redondo Ward. Send me a message so we can chat! I'm looking forward to talking to all of you! Love much!
