  1. Not only are they the funniest family on tv, but no bleeping neccessary. I love that! Most reality shows are bleep bleep bleep. Hey! It's just good tv. lol
  2. Chances are if you had married the other girl you would still have posted that same post. Some people just seem to always be looking for something else instead of nurturing the spouse that they chose to spend their life with. I just don't understand this. Instead of spending time wondering about the what ifs (which is stupid) spend time with your wife, do things for her, just anything! Instead of looking at love as a noun (a THING that just comes to someone) look at love as a verb (action that you have to DO). Do things that show your wife that you are willing to love her. Than that feeling (that alot of people mistakingly believes just comes) will be in your heart. That's when you will be able to look at your wife and know that you were an idot to think otherwise, that you had married the love of your life.
  3. I haven't read all the post so if this has been said sorry. Weither we show respect to someone or not is a choice that we make for ourself. We choose to show respect or not. The reasons we would choose to not show respect to someone, anyone are probaly not Christ like. If someone does something to hurt us or are "not deserving of our respect" why does that give us the right to not be respectful. We are to love everyone and be Christ like. Usally not showing respect to someone is doing or saying something to them or about them that is rude, mean or hateful. How is that showing love or being Christlike. Just my opion!
  4. When your belly is no longer in your personal space and free game for anyone to rub, pat, or touch whenever they feel like it. Even if it is a complete stranger in the supermarket. When everyone ask you when you are due and they go one to tell you everyone they have ever known who has a birthday remotely close to your due date. When you feel that tiny life growing and can hardly wait to see what they look, feel and sound like. :)
  5. I hope that this not inappropirate but it was just so funny I wanted to share.
  6. Wow I didn't know that you could get a different one. Kinda seems to me that it would take the sacradness out of it. Probaly because I never considered it. I love my blessing! It's just sometimes I feel like well I messed that one up. Like there are so many things in there that I just don't qualify for anymore. I know deep down that probaly isn't true. I'm just such a different person now than I was than (22 years ago) like he was talking to someone else. I THINK THAT I MAY BE LOSSING MY MARBLES!
  7. I'm just curious about the way a patriarchal blessing works. I have had questions before and never really asked anyone. Anyway most of the time people recieve their blessings as teenagers. I know that the blessings are there for us if we live righteously. What happens when someone (after they have recieved their blessings) becomes inactive, lived a life not worhty of these blessings. Than some time later becomes active? Are those blessings null and void? I realize that we can be forgiven of past sins and receive blessings for following the commandment. But what of specific blessings in our patriarchal blessing? If kinda sounds silly as I type it but it almost feels as if there is a window of oppertunity.
  8. I asked my daughter the gullible in the dictionary question. She says and I quote" It was never in there, I'm not stupid Mom." She makes me laugh! After I told her it was a joke all she could do was beg me to not post it on facebook. I didn't on facebook but this is free game since you don't know her.
  9. As much as I love my 15 year old daughter she must be the most guillable. My favorite story is when she was in 6th grade (11 years old) her friends was tring to tell her that there was no santa (yes she stilled belived than). She came home and was telling us that so and so was saying that there was no santa that it was our parets and she says to us "but I got them I told them there was no way that my parents could get around the world in one night" I can only imagie the looks on her friends faces. I think that she was very confused after we let her in on the truth.
  10. Thanks yes a bit clearer. clearer than mud but not spring water either. And that is what it is saying about the link. I really do wish that there was this cisco technogoly for real life people sounds like it would be very handy. lol
  11. Mahone that link was blocked to me?
  12. That does help me to understand it somewhat. (I've always loved anologies) but now I'm just curious. Why I can understand how helpful it would be to be able to listen to both my children at the same time and understand what they are saying. What is the purpose of two computer networks needing the same internet at the same time?
  13. ok here is a funny story. Today my 3year old son was telling me something and it felt like he was talking in a foreign laungage. I didn't understand one word he was saying. I turned to my 4year old daughter and said did you understand any of that and she very clearly translated what my son had just said. I felt excatly the same way reading your post. I really should learn more about stuff. Glad you got your help.
  14. I read a book about this once and the only thing I remember out of the whole book was that the girl told the guy and he started to feel that he didn't want to marry the wonderful woman. In a meeting with them and their bishop the young man started to tell the bishop how he wanted to marry a women who was (don't remember the exact words) righteous. The bishop than turned to the young man and said (i do remember these exact words) Young man may I please have your temple recomend. I feel that your past is between you and the Lord but I also believe that sharing such things can really bind two people if the two people will allow it. I don't feel that you should have to tell him but I also feel that if it bothers you not to tell him that won't go away. Not sure if this helps but here you go.
  15. I just wanted to say that I hope you did not misunderstand me. I'm not trying to make any type of judgement at all. You aren't able to hear a persons tone on a formun. I love youth and all of the difference in them that make them who they are. I don't see anything wrong with that type of haircut at all. I think that the youth today are faced with so many challenges that their hair should be the least of our worries. I guess I was just tring to say that I think that you misunderstood the advice that was given to you. I don't feel that anyone was tring to put down your beliefs your morals or your values. I do sometimes feel that the youth don't show as much respect to adults as they should and I guess that I was tring to help you see that. Not my place so sorry for that. If all you really wanted was a yes or no than in my oppion yes according to the pictures you showed us it's appropriate. But I must add that I am in no way qualified to answer that. If a priesthood leader said it was not than for me it wouldn't be. So again best of luck to your hockey team. And again I appolize if I offened you in any way.
  16. thatldskid You have a one of many chooses to make in your teen life that will help you to develop into the adult you may become. The other adults on this site were giving you advice from their perspective. That's why there are different answers everyone has different perspective. There were no attacks on you or your sprituality. Just hypothetical situations. If you choose to get the mohowk and your ym president questioned you about it would you say to him listen hear buddy? I mean no disrespect at all to you but if my 15 year old daughter was disrespectful to an adult because she didn't like the advice she got I would be more worried about that than the hair style she wore. I wish you the best in you search for an answer and best of luck with your hockey team.
  17. Without going to deep I just want to say that I have a real testimony in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that it is the church is true and living the teachings and commandments can bring true and everlasting happiness. I also believe in the covents of marriage. I've been a member since I was 8 years old. I was inactive for about two years when my husband and I married. I returned to church after about three year into our marriage. And gained a true testimony about a year or so after that. Now 18 years and five kids latter here we are. I love my husband and I know that he loves me. Doing our own thing for so many years can really hurt a marriage. I don't believe that a marriage can truly heal without Heavenly Father and the atonement of Jesus Christ. I believe that slamjet had the answer to the question "how far would you go?" right, its all a matter of perspective. I can't imagine throwing away my marriage as easily as some have said they would over a difference of beliefs. Easily is probaly the wrong word. Just as I'm sure that some are thinking that they can't believe that I would consider going to another church. Well to clarify (funny I know that none of you know my husband but I don't want you to think bad thoughts of him) My husband has not said to me You need to choose me or the church. In fact he has told me to go if I want to. but after years of doing this we are not happy together. We both have healing to do and we need Christ in our marriage. I don't believe that Christ is only in the hearts of LDS people. So if going to a Baptist church as a family and learning of Christ helps us to heal than shouldn't I try that. I also know that my faith is in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I will always know the Book of Morman is true. I also believe that blessings will come to my family if we allow the spirit to lead us. Thanks for your comments and giving me things to think about.
  18. this may have been told but its my favorite lame joke What do you call a cow with no legs? Ground beef! haha
  19. But what if he's not saing that you have to give up Heavenly Father, just going to the LDS church. He's not LDS and you are and he wants to get closer to Heavenly Father with his wife but not thru the LDS church. Does that change anything?
  20. How far would you go to save your marriage? Would you stop going to church? Would you cut all ties to the people you have gone to church with for years? Would you even give up LDS.net? I know how important keeping a family together is but would Heavenly Father want someone to give up so much inorder to stay married? Just looking for different things to think about on this subject. Thanks!
  21. Has anyone had Taco soup? I love it. 1 lb ground beef and 1 chopped onion cooked together and drained 2 cans of kidney beans or pinto beans 1 can of black beans 2 cans of tomatoes or the rotel kind 1 can of cream of corn 1 package of taco seasoning 1 package of dry ranch dressing mix together with 1 cup of water (don't drain any of the canned stuff) cook till hot serve with tortila chips cheddar cheese and sour cream. My version is I use one can of kidney and two cans of black beans b/c I like them better. Also I drain some b/c I like it thicker. Also I have cooked this in the crock pot just don't add the 1 cup of water.
  22. No way! I didn't want to take your thunder just wanted to share it. Sounds as if your girls are amazing as well. Growing up I was more like them. I struggled with grades until one day it just clicked for me and than I started getting the grades. Not an easy task. You should be so proud!
  23. Ok I know a little late but if we are bragging about kids I've got one for you. My oldest daughter just graduated 1st in her class. whoo hooo!!! Her freshman and sophmore years she made mostly A's and some B's without even having to ever study. She also played basketball and softball. Was ok in basketball but she was an awesome softball player. Than the summer before her junior year she was in a car accident and had a head injury. No other injuries. She spent 8 days in a coma and after two weeks in the hospital they sent her to a rehap and told her she would probaly be there for a few months. When she went to the rehap she was just learning how to walk again she couldn't do math(which was her strong subject) count money and many other things. She spent one weekend at the rehap! She was able to start her junior year on time but only went a half a day. She had to work hard no longer did things come easy to her, she couldn't think fast anymore and wasn't very good at sports anymore. She made the decision to give up the sports and focus on learning how to study. She had a different personality and so had struggles with her friends. Way too much for a 16 year old. But she worked hard and did it. She is amazing! Now she is off to college in a few short weeks and wants to be a doctor. Did I mention that she is amazing!!!!!!!!!
  24. That was so funny!!! I wouldn't stand in line for it but it's definitly redbox worthy. Thanks for the laugh!
  25. Ok I was all for keeping any winnings from this ticket b/c after all you didn't go gamble you bought it on accident than I found these quotes and I've changed my mind. President Spencer W. Kimball said: “From the beginning we have been advised against gambling of every sort. The deterioration and damage comes to the person, whether he wins or loses, to get something for nothing, something without effort, something without paying the full price” (in Conference Report, Apr. 1975, 6; or Ensign, May 1975, 6). —Work. “Work brings happiness, self-esteem and prosperity. It is the means of all accomplishment; it is the opposite of idleness,” according to President Kimball. “We are commanded to work. Attempts to obtain our temporal, social, emotional, or spiritual well-being by means of a dole violate the divine mandate that we should work for what we receive. Work should be the ruling principle in the lives of our Church membership.” News of the church May 1981. I believe that we will should appericate more what we work for that what is just given to us when it comes to stuff we have. If we sit around and just live off the interest could be a lack of following the council of our leaders. (boy would it be nice for awhile tho haha). Even just giving our kids a paid education could take away from them. (I not saying that we don't help them get their education thats a whole different topic). I like the story of the person using the dollar as a book mark. It would be hard but I would want to use this ticket as a book mark and never find out if is a winner. As for paying tithing I get a little confused. I guess if we never play or if we never turn in a ticket that we didn't mean to purchase than it would never be an issue but here are scriputres I found that have interesting use of words. Deuteronomy 14:22Thou shalt truly atithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. 2 Chronicles 31:5¶And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the a tithe of all things brought they in abundantly. D&C 119The Prophet asked the Lord how much of their property he required for sacred purposes. The answer was this revelation. 1–5, The Saints are to pay their surplus property and then give, as tithing, one-tenth of their interest annually; 6–7, Such a course will sanctify the land of Zion. 1Verily, thus saith the Lord, I require all their asurplus property to be put into the hands of the bishop of my church in Zion, 2For the building of mine ahouse, and for the laying of the foundation of Zion and for the priesthood, and for the debts of the Presidency of my Church. 3And this shall be the beginning of the atithing of my people. 4And after that, those who have thus been atithed shall pay one-tenth of all their interest annually; and this shall be a standing law unto them forever, for my holy priesthood, saith the Lord. 5Verily I say unto you, it shall come to pass that all those who gather unto the land of aZion shall be tithed of their surplus properties, and shall observe this law, or they shall not be found worthy to abide among you. 6And I say unto you, if my people observe not this law, to keep it holy, and by this law sanctify the land of Zion unto me, that my statutes and my judgments may be kept thereon, that it may be most holy, behold, verily I say unto you, it shall not be a land of aZion unto you. 7And this shall be an ensample unto all the astakes of Zion. Even so. Amen. Wouldn't lottery winnings be an increase or of all things. Also it says one-tenth of all their interest. I'm not very scripture literate so I'm sure I'm getting things off. One more thought to consider: What if someone gets you a ticket for lets say your birthday. It's a gift than you aren't expected to pay for a gift also has anyone ever paid thithing on a birthday gift. Just a thought!
