  1. I see, but did it say what year they got placed in there?
  2. Someone told me that sometimes sealers don't talk much, but ours did. They talked about what years the people were married, etc. and what they life might have been like. I like when they'd say those German names. Some were so long and touch to pronounce.
  3. I did them recently and they're my favorite thing. They're ONE of your favorites... probably? Are you not sure? :)
  4. Ok, am I missing something? There IS no section 142.
  5. Does anyone know what year mirrors were placed in the Sealing Rooms to demonstrate Eternity?
  6. I know a girl that was going through a divorce, Temple recommend and everything and she told me that her bishop said it was alright to date. That was pretty surprising to me. She told me that she went out with one guy and kissed him a lot and had to fight herself from going further. While talking with her she was very interested in me as well. She had a swirl of emotions spinning around inside of her and I suggested that she should not date at the moment and shouldn't for awhile even after her divorce. She disagreed with me on both counts. Sorry for rambling, but I think it's totally wrong to date until the divorce is legally complete.
  7. Hi Bethie, thanks! I was Endowed in January and have gone back twice since then. Once for initiatories and now for sealings. I didn't want the sealings to end.
  8. What can someone share with me about doing Sealings in the Temple for the dead? I plan on doing some later in the month. It'll be my first time.
  9. So to help me understand, what percent then of active members do you think have a current recommend?
  10. I was just endowed and it was great. I had read some online, but never reading things I wasn't suppose to, but it was a bit different than what I expected. I mean, there's no way a person could expect certain things. Most of the people I invited came as well. Some came that I didn't even invite. :)
  11. Yup, I've seen that a number of times when they have to redo the person because all of their hair didn't go under.
  12. Wow, thank you for all that information. I wish there was a way to practice a few times before I actually do it. :)
  13. Has anyone ever baptised in the Temple? If so, is it hard to bring the person back up out of the water? I should be Endowed by March and I sooo want to perform baptisms. Also, why do they want you to tell them if you're Endowed when you do baptisms? Do they give you garments to wear or something?
  14. Did anyone do anything special after they were Endowed... excluding being sealed? I mean do people often do anything special after it's over with, socially or anything?
  15. I'm half way there, waiting to get an interview with the Stake President. I've been told that I have to buy all my own garments - no freeby set.
  16. Thanks but... I'm not endowed yet. :) I've added up the prices for everything else, but the wall appears when they ask for recommend number.
  17. Thanks. But does the prices vary depending on the tops and bottoms or the fabric or what?
  18. What's the present costs of garments - top and bottom? I've heard they're sold separately, so I'd like to know the price for each piece. Also, the current price for the ceremonial clothing? Also, do they just come in small, medium and large, etc? I've read that garment sizes are different than regular underwear sizes... how true is that? Also, how many styles are available for men? Also, do they keep their size or shrink after washing and drying? Feel free to share any additional information. Ps. When/if my Stake President signs my recommend, will he then laminate it or is that something I have to do on my own or what??? NEXT UPDATE: I now have access to the private area of the site, so I can see all the prices. Thanks to everybody that added good things to this post! :)
  19. I was called as EQ secretary after just receiving the Melchizedek Priesthood and also a convert.
  20. You're not crazy. I do think you need to be aware of the danger involved and what could happen to you if you're ever captured by the wrong people - decapitation and/or torture before that. Things have gotten much better over there, but it could b l o w up again at any moment. You'll definitely have some interesting stories to tell for the rest of your life and hopefully touch some people in a beneficial way over there. If you go, I'd love for you to let me know so I could pray for you and maybe keep in contact. Ps. Where your seatbelt, it would sure be a bumpy ride.
  21. Yup, my bishop gave me that pamphlet a couple months ago and I've read it cover to cover.
  22. Thought so. If someone told you they did what this lady did, what would you tell them as far as how to handle it?
  23. I've searched for this, but didn't find anything. This is a serious question and do NOT want to get in trouble over asking this. I know a member that's a convert and has a big past as far as word of wisdom and chastity. She has had lots of "partners" and this year decided to put all of that behind her and fully commit? herself to church. She began Temple prep classes and went thru the Temple just under 2 months ago. She's been to the Temple twice and the last time she went a few days later she performed a certain sex act on a guy the she knows, but says she's repented of it herself and doesn't need to discuss it with her bishop. I told her that what she did does need to be shared with her bishop. MY QUESTION: Is oral sex considered breaking the law of chastity? This seems like a no-brainer to me, but she told me, "I know some men in church that say anything other than vaginal and anal is 'fair game.'" That sounds totally obsurd to me. I searched for this on LDS.org, but nothing came up. She said she refused to let the guy touch her under her garments, that's good, but I still think what she did is wrong. She also said I was judging her, but I'm not, I've only told her that I think she can't put this behind her without talking about this with her bishop. EDIT: I appreciate these great replies from everyone! EDIT, Christmas Day update. Well below is what I found in my mailbox from her - ENJOY. "I am offended that you find it necessary to lecture me on the rights and wrongs of the church. All of those articles and things that you attached as PROOF to back up your "opinion" are WAY OVER THE TOP> I know somewhere in your mind you believe you are being helpful...or concerned .. But from where I stood...opening lmultiple etters with paragraph after paragraph of things about sex....appears that you are obsessed with this issue.... I think it only fair to let you tell you. I am as aware as YOU are about the law of Chastity and what it involves...I do not owe you an explaination of how I am handling what I did or didn't do..Frankly it is NONE OF YOUR CONCERN. And I would thank you not to give it another thought!!! And it you can't help yourself from Thinking about it...please refrain from discussing it with ME. I said "have a nice life" because I find your medalling, invasive, assuming, self righteous stand as completely unwarranted and unacceptable. I have been to the Temple. I take my vows and covenants VERY SERIOUSLY...Rest assured I will do what is necessary to remain in good graces with my church and my God....and PLEASE do not mention this issue in any way, ever again! THANK YOU"
