I moved away from my family 7 years ago. Everyone I knew and loved lived in Utah! Every aunt, uncle, cousin and friend. And I found myself 750 miles away. For 7 years I was completely disconnected to all the people who I loved and who I had grown up with. Until I found Facebook. Now I speak to my cousins on a regular basis. I found out a cousin got married this week. I found out days later. But if it weren't for Facebook I may have found out years later. Now that would have been embarrassing. Am I mad at my cousin for not calling me? No, I am sure she was wrapped up in all the excitement. But I was glad that I was able to congratulate her personally and to wish her well. I am grateful for Facebook because now I stay in constant contact with my parents, my siblings and all my extended family members. I know what is going on in their lives and I don't feel like I am in exile from my family anymore. When I go back for the yearly Christmas dinner I will feel like I am in the loop. Are the warnings worth considering? Absolutely! But I don't want to throw out the baby with the bath water.

I think I agree with most of the posts above. I think I can see where she may have gotten confused though. I have heard that Bishops are encouraged to only use music that is in the Hymn book for Sacrament meetings. The purpose of this rule is to ensure that the music performed and or sung in Sacrament is appropriate. However, I don't think the rule applies outside of Sacrament meeting!!!! I think that any music that is uplifting spiritually and/or does not detract from your ability to have a positive relationship with Christ is wonderful. Otherwise, what would I ever run to. I would be in big trouble if I tried to run to music produced by the church. Angela Scriptures 4 Kids

Yes! You will never feel completely free and you will always question how complete your repentance is if you don't. The Lord put together a process of repentance that includes the Bishop for a reason. If you truly are repentant and if you truly want to feel close to Heavenly Father then you will want to follow through with all the steps of repentance with as much exactness as possible. Remember, the purpose of the bishop is more for you than for anyone else. In addition, going to the Bishop will help you stay accountable to yourself. You won't want to do it again so it will be an incentive to not slip up again. He will also be a support to you and can be there for you to fortify yourself so that you can avoid making the same choice again.

You know when I first considered whether Christ was married I was in Jerusalem with Truman Madsen. I heard people discussing it with Truman and what I heard at first upset me. Truman was of the opinion that Christ was married. But as time went on throughout the trip, I became more and more convinced that Christ was married. There are so many things that say to me that he was. By the time the trip was over I was completely at peace with it and I had many manifestations of the spirit of why it was so: 1) Everyone, including Christ, must have all the ordinances in order to be exalted. = he was married 2) Christ experienced everything we must experience = he must have experienced marriage 3) I think the marriage where he provided the wine was Christ's 4) I think that the washing of the feet with Mary was an ordinance that was being conveyed in the scriptures. I could keep going on. But I think that it just makes sense. If Christ really is JUST LIKE GOD then there is no question he was married. But again, I think that God protects those things that are most sacred. I think that throwing it out there that Christ was married would have set up his wife to be discussed and treated with disrespect throughout the ages. That is just not how God works. I think it sounds nice. But I would trust your intuition first. Deep down inside I think you know the answer already.

I think he had to have been married. If marriage is necessary for Celestial Exaltation then you can use the same argument for why he was baptized. We all have to be baptized including Christ. We all have to be married including Christ. However, I would use the same argument for the reason we don't know much about "Mother in Heaven". God wants to protect her and make sure she is not slandered. Thus, we don't talk about her. I think for the same reason there are not mentions of Christ's wife. Angela http://scriptures4kids.com

I know what it feels like to have the spirit of Jesus Christ in my presence. I have also felt the exact opposite. I have had many occasions where I have felt that there were evil spirits trying to influence me or another member of my family. I have seen people in my life who have actually felt like they were wrestling with them physically while sleeping. I think that Satan would want us to believe that they don't exist because if we don't believe they are there, then we won't recognize there presence and pro-actively do something to make them go away. I find that they come more frequently when I am on a good path in my life. I think this is either because they are angry that I am making good choices or because I recognize them more because of the choices I am making in my life. The wonderful thing about the gospel of Jesus Christ and about having a testimony of Jesus Christ is that, while they are real, they are not to be feared. The power that God and his Son yield is so much greater than Satan could ever even dream of yielding. When considered in this context it makes the evil spirits seem very sad and pathetic. In every situation where I have recognized their presence I put my arm to the square and cast them out. I teach my children from a very young age to recognize their presence and they all know what to do if they feel that feeling. It is actually pretty amazing to see a three year old raise her arm to the square and say, "In the name of Jesus Christ, Satan, GO AWAY!" That is what I teach them. I have literally seen a 3 year old call upon Jesus Christ and through her sweet command change the entire spirit in a room. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ lives! That his power is so amazing and all powerful that through HIM a child can command the evil spirits to depart. I know they are real, but I do not fear them. I am not naive enough to think that if we cast them out that that is enough. They will always try to come back. They are relentless, they do not give up. I think that doing the primary basics of reading your scriptures daily, saying daily prayer and constantly seeking to live according to the will of Heavenly Father will go a long way toward protecting you from their influence. In situations where there influence is more entrenched (I had a family member who had spirits that were quite attached after drug abuse) will need more than just casting them out. In that situation he received a priesthood blessing and his room where he lived was blessed. It took several times to get the spirits to go away. That in combination with him making changes in his life were eventually enough to make them go away. I hope that helps someone Angela Scriptures 4 Kids

I live in Queen Creek which is just south of Gilbert and Mesa. We are in the far South East Valley. Originally I am from Utah but I have lived here for 7 years. I like the sun here, I don't like the Snow in Utah. But I think I would prefer Utah in the Summer. Do you still live in AZ?
