  1. Thanks, Connie! That definitely answered my question : )
  2. I mean what do Heavenly Father's spirit children do while they wait to be given a physical body?
  3. Wasn't there a group back in the 90s that were prepping for TEOTWAWKI (the end of the world as we know it)? Didn't the GA have to warn folks that if they associated with this group they would be in danger of being excommunicated? Anybody remember what I'm talking about?
  4. Hi, I am working on some scripture notes this morning about our pre-mortal existence. I guess it makes sense that I am confused since it has been veiled from our memories. I just don't understand the timeline of events. What do our spirits do while they wait to receive a physical body? My head hurts trying to figure it out. HELP! Thank you!
  5. Thank you everyone! I've got a great list going : ) I love all those sci-fi shows. Good stuff. Also really like Firefly! Still mad it was cancelled.
  6. Thank you for the suggestions! I will check them all out! PrisonChaplain, I've been watching a few Korean dramas on mysoju. I like The Coffee Shop Prince. I find that Korean TV shows are VERY tame and full of DRAMA. There is even a Korean drama that is a lot like 24 in the U.S. It involves a South Korean secret agent being sought by North Korean spies. I've heard good things about Off The Map. I'll try to watch it this weekend. I really appreciate the recommendations! Have a great weekend, guys! ~Meghan~
  7. Can anyone recommend some decent TV shows and movies? It doesn't have to be kid-friendly. I'm a single girl in my 20s. I can overlook mild foul language and violence as long as the violence is good guys vs. bad guys. I like Burn Notice and all of the cop shows. Also enjoyed LOST even thought it was CRAZY! I like sci-fi shows, too, and have seen most of them. Maybe you have an obscure one to suggest? Thanks so much! I'm stuck in Korea until April. Been here 10 months and am running out of entertainment options. ~Meghan~
  8. Just wanted to post an update! I kept telling myself that I would go into Seoul to the English service, but I haven't made the trip yet. I was scared I would get lost! This evening I was walking on the street and saw two missionaries. I stopped them and asked them about finding an English service. They said there is one in Uijeongbu for the military, but that civilians can attend. I gave them my number and they promised to call me with more information. The Holy Ghost is leading the way! ~Meghan
  9. Finrock, That would be great if you could ask him which branch is for English speakers and where they all meet. Thank you! Meghan
  10. I've packed some rolls of TP and wipes to get me started. LOL. Will have to get a sturdier umbrella once I arrive. Would hate to have to my hair fall out from the acid rain! OUCH! Thank you for the information and advice, guys! It will be heeded! : )
  11. I can't wait to get there and begin my new adventure in a foreign land! Thanks for the tip, prisonchaplain! I will have to sample this stew. Sounds tasty! : )
  12. Thank you, marts1! Found just what I needed. Seoul English Branch... https://secure.lds.org/units/home/1,9781,600-1-7-428698,00.html
  13. Hi, I am moving to South Korea for a teaching job. In fact, I am flying out this week. YIKES I have only recently begun exploring the Mormon faith and was hoping to continue to learn more while I am in South Korea. I understand that there are Church members in Korea. I will be living in Uijeongbu, which is a mid-sized city just north of Seoul. How do I go about finding the LDS community in Korea? I am a native English speaker. In fact, I can't speak Korean worth a hoot. Obviously, I'll be teaching in English. LOL. Are there English-language missionaries and church meetings? Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Meghan
  14. Thanks for the welcome messages, everyone! I am feeling like I belong already! : ) I am going to Korea to teach Korean kindergarten and elementary school students. What is this show someone mentioned? I was given this nickname by an old boss. Perhaps he knew of a TV show?
  15. Hello! Glad to have found this forum! I look forward to exploring the LDS faith and learning as much as possible. I will be going to South Korea to begin a new job in a couple of weeks and am hoping to find the LDS community there! :) ~Meghan
