  1. I personally, don't think that a man not serving a mission makes him less of a person. My sister is getting married to a guy that was 20 when he was baptized into the church, a mission just isn't for him. He already had his life planned out and was getting his education. I wouldn't have a problem marrying someone that didn't serve a mission. Although it depends on the reason why he didn't serve a mission. If you were just lazy and didn't serve a mission when you turned 19 then I would have a problem with that. But your 21, and you have other plans. So I don't see why someone wouldn't date/marry you just because you haven't served a mission. If that's their reasoning, they aren't worth it.
  2. It wasn't the only session, just the last Yeah it was at SVU, personally I like the one at SVU just cause its more personal cause there is less people. If your brother was there, what was his name?
  3. I just got back from EFY at SVU. It was one of the most amazing weeks of my entire life. Has anyone else had the chance to go?? :]
  4. Wow, I didn't expect this to turn into a crazy disagreement. >_<
  5. Thats awesome! Thats what we need in our ward. The YM activities here consist of playing Call of Duty on an XboX360, or a sport haha
  6. Haha, I've been to a few institute classes with my older cousin, and I would so much prefer to attend a class once a week in the evening as opposed to waking up early. I learn so much more in those types of classes cause I'm actually alert and awake. >_< haha
  7. Although I am thankful for seminary and it really does help keep the spirit around during the day, It really does take a toll on my energy. Thankfully, my seminary starts at 6:45 (or is supposed to, people are always 10 minutes late) I find it funny though, the teens I know that attend a seminary in their school complain its boring. I tell them try waking up early to attend it haha.
  8. Yes I do think the last YW General conference was amazing. I also agree the lessons and materials need to be updated. Thanks for your post, it helped me allot :)
  9. Actually I don't think its just the activities we do, its the teaching in general too. They are constantly saying that "If you don't get married, then you should just serve a mission" Its hard to think of some examples off the top of my head now. I'm the only Mia maid, so I'm paired up with the 3 laurels we have in our ward. Its really irritating because they are always shooting down my hopes and dreams. Whenever I share what I want to do they ask me why I don't want to stay home with my kids and let my future husband work. I don't know, I don't want to appear to be spoiled and a brat but I figured someone else out there that's not in my ward could relate.
  10. This is a controversial topic, allot of people end up getting frustrated with me, but no one is giving me good answers or being understanding. I have a strong testimony and all but sometimes I really feel like the church is sexist. It seems like all we ever learn or talk about is just having children, cooking and making quilts. Does anyone else feel this way?
