  1. Well, that's intriguing, I wonder if it's going to work the other way if there are more men than women?
  2. Thanks guys! But I'm a bit confused; Why is it a man can be sealed more than once, but a woman cannot? Isn't the essentially polygamy? I thought that wasn't supported? Pam: She told us to ask our parents/Bishop and she would also find the answer for our next class for those of us who hadn't asked.
  3. We had an intriguing discussion in Seminary this morning, but our teacher didn't know the answer. If you were marred and sealed, but your spouse passed away and you remarried, could you be sealed a second time or no? She said she thought possibly that men could but women couldn't, but she wasn't sure.
  4. Hey! Ok, so I'm going to a Mormon friend's house today to work on the project but I realized I've never been with other Mormons during a conference and was wondering how, at home, typical Mormon families behave while watching it. I'm assuming it's not treated like a regular TV program, that the prayers are observed and respected. But are there any other things I should know to do/not do? Thanks!
  5. Guess I didn't look hard enough then! I understand hymns during Sacrament, but I hadn't found any bands like the ones suggested. Thanks guys!! I'll be sure to check out all the suggested stuff! The Mormon rap made me LOL, I loved it!
  6. Ok, I was thinking, you can find a lot of contemporary general Christian bands out there, with music that fits the styles of today (Example: ) yet you never see any Mormon type groups like this. Mormon music only comes in the form of traditional hymns. Anyone know why?I, personally, find Mormon hymns a little boring to listen to after a while (don't get me wrong though, there are many particular hymns I enjoy) and I'm surprised more contemporary type music hasn't been made. Any other thoughts related to this topic would be appreciated !!
  7. Ok, I asked this in another thread, but was told to use the search function to find one on the topic. So a cut/paste of my question from the other thread: I've read about the sacred undergarments a bit and had to try to field a couple questions about the 'magic underwear' when I told my classmates I got baptized Mormon, but I'm not completely sure what their purpose is. What exactly is the significance of them? Does every LDS have to wear them or is it a personal choice? If you wear them, do you wear them all the time (like including swimming, etc)? Any other info would be appreciated. As far as I've understood, this is a touchy subject so I'm sorry if anyone is offended by what I've asked. (This is about the LDS version of undergarments, seeing as info on the Jewish version has already been given) Thanks!!
  8. Perhaps I should just make a new thread for this (Let me know if I should and I will), but this has me intrigued. I live in a non-LDS home with just my mom. She doesn't care if I see her in her underwear/nude (I'm 16), but that doesn't mean I stare. I just look away or leave the room. My sisters are both not very concerned with being seen in immodest clothing if I happen to walk in while they're getting dressed or something. Personally, I could care less if you're naked and I see you, it's people who use clothing to flaunt what they have that makes me uncomfortable (odd, I know).
  9. I love seminary! I started going about a week or two before getting baptized. It's awesome. But, I think, at that early in the morning, a lot depends on the teacher. Our teacher is awesome, always wide awake and enthusiastic about everything, which makes it way more enjoyable. I find, without seminary, I'm not as awake and get very grouchy. I also find it motivates me (scripture masteries!! I've got four left and our last day is this friday. I plan to finish them by then ). Plus, everything seems way funnier at 6:30 in the morning!
  10. Hi there! My name is Cass. I have no clue how I found this site, I was *supposed* to be doing Biology homework, but somehow ended up here instead! I will have been a Mormon for one month tomorrow. Although I really think I should have joined 4 years ago, but didn't due to family pressure. I hope to learn lots here and make new friends! Live long & Prosper!
