I can count from one to five in Cornish, and say "cornish please" and recite part of a song (two or three lines) in Cornish - not a lot of use really. Oh, and I can say one and all in Cornish as well
There are two main ones that I use:-
Familysearch.org and
Ancestry.co.uk
Plus others that are specific to my area and google should all else fail (it sometimes comes up with something)
I think I would make sure my family (including pets) were out. Everything else important is either on the internet somewhere (family tree) or is replaceable.
I have just obtained links for one line back to 1516 on my mother's side but need to check them against the parish records though to confirm the details. I also have indications (again need to be checked) for another of my mother's line going back to the 13th/14th century
I must admit I have not had any of this either, yet! although I do feel very excited when I find my ancestors (they are a awkward lot to find!) but I suppose that is the same for everyone.
I am a returning member - I stopped attending church about 8 or 9 years ago, but have been thinking of returning for some time. Well I have finally managed to convince myself that I need to return sooner rather than later.
