  1. Thank you - not sure how, have only just noticed but I seem to have posted twice ooops.
  2. Hello I thought I would re-introduce myself, since my last post was about four years ago. I am from the UK - Cornwall to be exact. My profile pic is of St Piran (the patron saint of Cornwall) surfing on a millstone into Cornwall whilst waving the Cornish Flag. I have been married, and divorced in those few years - a very great learning curve there. That's just a short summary. Look forward to getting to know you all again. Liz

  4. I saw Cinderella last week - one of the ugly sisters was played by an actor who played a death eater in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
  5. I read my doctors writing once - to say he was surprised is an understatement (I used to work for a solicitor so a doctor's writing is no problem )
  6. My town is triangular and surrounded on two sides by water, we have a castle built by Henry VIII and it is generally 1oC colder on my street than in the main town (which is a 5 minute downhill walk).
  7. BBC News - South Africa's Nelson Mandela dies
  8. We had an Elder Romney here (different one obviously) during the american elections - third cousin to Mitt he said. Sounds like a similar character to the one you met.
  9. I was returning to church after an absence and was doing a general search for LDS forum to kind of bolster myself up. Anyway I think LDS.net came up either at or near the top of the list and I jumped on board.
  10. "The ship is very stable - the water isn't"
  11. The new Pope is Argentinian Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio to be precise! :-) Best wishes to him.
  12. Live updates here BBC News - LIVE: New pope elected
  13. When I first joined we had two patriarchs. I believe one was in foreign climes (can't remember where exactly believe it was somewhere in Africa) and another was called effectively I believe to 'cover' for him. The original one is still going (or he was at the last stake conference and I haven't heard anything since then) but in very poor health, so we effectively have two patriarchs again.
  14. We had our high councilman and his wife down and they both talked about we need to trust Heavenly Father.
  15. Have just seen this in another paper - to say I was shocked is an understatement. Apparently the last Pope to resign was Gregory XII in 1415.
  16. I think the residents have declared themselves to be British - that should be enough surely?
  17. We were talking about Santa in Primary last week and pointed out to the children that the presents Santa brings helps us to remember the presents that the wisemen gave to Christ.
  18. Interview with the foster parents:- BBC News - Rotherham foster couple want council apology There was a video on the evening news and if I can find a link to it I will add it. Video link as promised BBC News - Rotherham foster couple want children back
