1. I thought this video was really important so I posted it in general instead of the youtube video. I am grateful for those of other faiths taking a stand against the current bigotry towards Mormons. YouTube - Catholics Appalled at Anti-Mormon Slur

1 Nephi 2:5-6

1 Nephi 2:5-6 5 And he came down by the borders near the shore of the Red Sea; and he traveled in the wilderness in the borders which are nearer the Red Sea; and he did travel in the wilderness with his family, which consisted of my mother, Sariah, and my elder brothers, who were Laman, Lemuel, and Sam. 6 And it came to pass that when he had traveled three days in the wilderness, he pitched his tent in a valley by the side of a river of water. Quotes for Discussion 1 Nephi 2:5-6 Lehi’s colony first traveled south from Jerusalem until they met the Red Sea (1 Nephi 2:4-6), then south-southeast until after they had stayed at Shazer and Nahom (1 Nephi 16:9-14, 33-34), and then “nearly eastward from that time forth” until they arrived at the sea” (1 Nephi 17:1-6). Daniel H. Ludlow, Companion, 92
3. "MrsFurious" is meeting with the Mormon missionaries and is not interested in joining, but still the banter between her and her husband after the meeting is hilarious. Ever wonder what people talked about after they met the missionaries? It's been awhile since I've laughed this hard at a youtube video.
4. You should be impressed I lasted a whole 3 minutes waiting for your internet to get out of it's lull so you could refresh the page
5. Yeah it was actually really cool as hot pink until I noticed my head was throbbing.
6. That is tough. I think you handled it really well. if I was in your situation I would say "I love you and always will. There may be things we don't see eye to eye on, but that doesn't mean my feelings towards you change."
7. I never heard that one. I did hear the one that said all ward and stake websites needed to be taken down and that many members interpreted that to be all Church related websites needed to be taken down. After Elder Ballard's series of talks about "participating in new media," "creating blogs," joining the online conversation, etc, I don't think anyone should have that misconception now. We do however have open communcation with the Church and would drop anything if they told us we were overstepping any lines.
8. Actually we have domains for every temple. Some have the websites built out and some we are still working on. Rome just happened to be a very hot news topic, so we wanted to make sure good information was available. I too am really anxious to hear more about the exact location of the GKC temple.
9. More Good Foundation has been working on a new website for the Rome Temple. You can see it here in English: Rome Mormon Temple and in Italian: Il Tempio Mormone di Roma I did the template for it, so I'd love to hear any comments on the site and what you'd like to see.
10. I'd be very surprised if they didn't speak English too. :) English is one of the official languages. Every Filipino I have spoken with has wonderful English skills. I wouldn't even know they were in the Philippines.
11. I have about 6 lines of text I need translated from English to Cebuano. Is anyone fluent?
12. New video about Mormonism with Elder Nelson:
13. Yes Prophets can and do make mistakes. They can have their own opinions. Look at Moses; how about Paul? I accept both were Prophets, despite their faults and mistakes. Peter and the other apostles likewise misunderstood the timing of gospel blessings to non-Israelites. Even following a revelation to Peter, many members of the early Christian Church continued to fight about this point and how to implement it—even Peter and Paul had disagreements. Yet, Bible-believing Christians, such as the Latter-day Saints, continue to consider both as prophets. Latter-day Saints are not troubled when prophets have personal opinions which turn out to be incorrect. In the case of the priesthood ban, members of the modern Church accepted the change with more joy and obedience than many first century members accepted the extension of the gospel to the Gentiles without the need for keeping the Mosaic Law. The LDS standard for doctrine is the scriptures, and united statements of the First Presidency and the Twelve.
14. Thank you so much Moksha for responding so quickly and citing the source. This is great!
15. Ever since I read this talk I've been happy to be called Mormon :)LDS.org - Ensign Article - Mormon Should Mean “More Good”
16. Only the united voice of the First Presidency and the Twelve can establish official LDS doctrine. "Mormon Doctrine" is not an official publication of the LDS Church. It's important to remember that individual Church leaders are inspired, but not infallible.
17. I was thinking I've probably split hairs that weren't meant to be split :) But I'm assuming you can one of the above without the others, right?
18. I added a few more options. I can add more if someone requests it. I've also made it so you can change your answer, in case you said "other" before but now your religion is listed.
19. That's great! I have some good friends who are Roman Catholic and many more who I've meet on the Internet. They're all amazing, wonderful people. I'm glad you're here.
20. I know I'm bumping a really old poll but I'm really curious to see how the demographics of this site have changed. Or maybe there is a newer poll someone started that I haven't seen too.
21. Nibowaka I checked my email and I sent you an email response 3 days ago letting you know that you were added to the open discussion group. Did you get that email? I sent it to t*******_j***@yahoo.com on Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 1:50 PM Link to your post: http://www.lds.net/forums/adult-advice/14261-you-would-hate-me-if-you-knew-me.html
22. "Freedom is always worth the price." I can't post the link to where that quote is from, because it a video of a young man who served in the military in Iraq addressing one of the candidates for President. I'm sure most of you have seen it. War is never a good thing. Horrible, terrible, mistakes are made, lives lost, innocent lives lost. People are always going to have different opinions on this. Please be mindful that it's such a sensitive/passionate issue for both sides. My best friend's husband is an officer who has done three tours. He has told some heart-wrenching stories. But one thing he always makes clear, he believes we need to be there. He knows what he is doing is important, not only to America, but to the Iraqi people. It's his opinion and stories that I trust.
23. For Pam, for always keeping me up to date on what's going on and always being able to count on her. I don't know where I would be or where LDS.net would be without her love and dedication. I'm so grateful for all the countless hours she puts in so I can continue to work on other websites and projects. Pam you are a life savor!
24. CK! So good to hear from you again. I'm excited you got your game done...and a baby on the way too? Wow! Congrats! Have you been in contact with anyone from Deseret book yet?
25. Go to Mormon.org. There is a section where you can chat with a missionary and have them contact you too.
