  2. I can't say I'm not surprised. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised the survey was also biased as well.
  3. Meh. That's average compared to .
  4. Noting that there have been a rise in church buildings catching fire lately, I wouldn't be surprised if it was arson. Also, noting the rich past this building has provided, I wouldn't be surprised that the person(s) convicted are going to be the least popular people in the state... assuming it is arson, which I hope isn't.
  5. I understand that, but keeping out missionaries from places outside of Europe is quite a signifcant number.
  6. I'm a diehard of Tennis Shoes series. At first, I didn't like the books, but they've grown on me. I've been waiting for AGES for the latest book. My non-jedi senses think that one of my christmas gifts will be the latest book.
  7. I saw this last year on a different website. I'd have to say, I really like the arrangement of the lights. He could really make some big bucks out of this.
  8. Obviously you havn't been to Canada yet. Back On Topic: This was surprising to me. Of all places that I'd expect missionaries to get booted out, Switzerland isn't on that list. I would've thought more along the lines of places where the christian demographic is small. In other news, I'm still stinging from the irony that my nickname is Switzerland in Social Studies. True Story.
  9. Whoever wrote that part deserves a high five.
  10. EPIC WIN 'nuff said. Edit: Found another example of Senior Citzen Pwnage, thought I'd share it with the world.
  11. Well, he practiced polygamy because God told him and the saints back then to. It wasn't a choice. Look, back when the church was founded, it only had a few thousand members. If they were to not practice polygamy, our church today, would be significantly smaller. Small enough that few people would even know what it is.

  15. As in commandments that were established post-ten commandments. Well first of all, an easy to find one is where Jesus creates the sacrament. Matthew 26: 26-29, KJV.
  16. I think they only deleted some of your double posts. If not, it's because this topic is very controversal in the church as well as outside the church, due to the fact that the LDS church has often been wrongly discriminated because of our old practice(s). Edit: Somebody's on the deleting spree. LOL
  17. The 10 commandments were the laws given to the Isrealites after Moses caught them worshiping false idols. These ten commandments were accompanied by also stricter laws, know as the law of Moses. Originally, they were to recive a higher law, much similar to the commandments we have recived today, ie. Word of Wisdom. tl;dr version: We believe God still gives commandments today. While we believe in the ten commandments, we believe that god still gives commandments to us today.
  18. From what my Seminary teacher said, it was originally a commandment from God, in order to get the church to grow faster. When the Church announced the manifesto, it was because that polygamy was no longer needed to help the church grow.
