  1. I am very envious of you. I frequently ponder over the Spirit World and wonder exactly what they are doing. I would welcome experiences you are having in a heartbeat. If you have any pull or are able to make any deals, tell some of them to come and talk to me! There are numerous accounts of members (and non-members) having interaction with spirits on the other side of the veil. It should be no great mystery to us at all. The great stumbling block is unbelief. We know it is a place of incredible peace and joy. We know that these people are very busy; there's much work going on there. When I think of the term "ministering of angels" I would rather think that this is merely interaction between them and us. If I were in your shoes I'd ask them about all the details I possibly could. I want to know what its like there. Do they eat? What do they eat? Do they dance? Is there Rock n' Roll or Mormon Tabernacle Choir music only? Are there certain things they're allowed to say to you/us? Do they have someone controlling what they say to us mortals? If so, who? I've had many dreams over the years that I was flying (no machines involved). It has been so real! I'd like to ask them how they travel. Can they fly? I agree with others who have said that this is a spiritual gift. From what I've heard about such ministerings, the visitors are usually a close relative. If you're having visits from others I'd probably counsel with your bishop who has the keys and powers of discernment. Pres. Packer has given talks about spiritual experiences that they are reserved for the individual only unless moved upon by the Spirit to share with others. So much for my two bits...
  2. Dear Hheinze, Someone once said that if Satan keeps reminding you of your past, be quick to remind him of his future! Stay the course. The people helping you in the disc. council will be there to help, love and guide you. The church is not vindictive or vengeful. I've been in the same boat. Satan loves to convince people that they are the only sinner on the face of the planet when, in reality, we are all sinners. We all need the healing balm of the Savior's Atonement. One talk you really need to read which helped me immensely was Elder Neil Andersen's talk "Repent...That I May Heal You." It was given in the Oct. 2009 General Conference.
  3. I ditto everything above. My dear fellow, the Lord loves you and will bless you. I have associated with many bishops over the years and I can state that the Lord guides and inspires them as they are called to be shepherds of their flocks (wards and branches). I have been truly amazed at their ability to help members in the the way they do. Go see your bishop immediately. He will guide you along the path to repentance. If you can serve a mission, fine! If you cannot, no problem! There are sooooo many ways to serve the Lord. True repentance will be very painful. But the joy of the fruits of the Atonement of our Savior will lift and comfort you. God bless you my dear brother.
  4. Dear sister. My heart goes out to you. I can relate in many ways to you. A statement by Elder Maxwell gives me a lot of comfort: "Do not mistake local cloud cover for general darkness." The storm clouds you are in will pass! The day will become brighter. Light will replace the dreary darkness. I have had many suicidal thoughts over the years. Two cousins of mine killed themselves. It is an awful pit to be in. I have discovered many powerful tools that help: surround yourself with positive, uplifting family, friends, music, environment. Immediately go out and help someone today! Be of service. "If you are not satisfied with your lot in life, build a service station on it." When you are in the service of your fellow men, you are only in the service of God. Put on the full armor of God; pray continually. Believe, believe, believe! "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." -- Mark 9:24 The stage of your mind is entertaining thoughts continually. Kick the evil actors off your stage by using Pres. Packer's timeless counsel to listen to worthy, uplifting music. Select favorite hymns and start singing when evil thoughts butt in on your stage. One of the most powerful lessons of the temple is that Satan is a weak punk! He's smart, sly, and insidiously charming but he is dismissed when you seek the light! Get a Priesthood blessing today! Everyone has sinned. Sin makes you feel worthless. Repentance brings sweet comfort and peace. I've experienced the awful bitter fruits of sin and basked in the peace and comfort of repentance. The Atonement of Jesus Christ works, dear sister. Heavenly Father loves you!
  5. Hello everyone! I was born into the LDS Church and have cherished my membership for over a half century! I'm still learning and gaining new insights into the Church. I really prize my testimony of the truthfulness of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is AWESOME! I have a beloved wife, six children and six grandchildren. I love the emphasis in the Church on eternal families. I look forward to mingling with you all! God be with you this day, and always!
